I'm pretty much in the same boat Dennis. I know the PBA needs to make money to stay afloat, especially after what happened in the late 90's when it almost dissapeared. At the same time, I have a problem with forcing any competitor to use a certain brand of equipment not because they're legal and others are illegal, but because the company paid money to the PBA.

Mark, I just don't see the point to force a bowler to use one ball over another because of a payment. I look up and find that virtually my entire arsenal is illegal, as well as my shoes.

Exactly. Plus, I still see no problem in letting them use it as long as any identifying markings are removed. I'm sure that there are a decent amount of people who can't recognize equipment on TV unless names were on it. Might be a little bit tougher with balls though.

I find it messed up that you cant use equipment that works well just because of sponsorship fees and the like. I happen to like Linds shoes and now because of all this sponsorship stuff I cant find Linds shoes in the proshops anymore because they dont carry it, due to it being illegal for use in the PBA

Pro shops don't stop carrying them because you can't use them on the PBA. They stop carrying them because they don't sell well anymore. If people bought them, they'd still carry them.

My Pro Shop stopped carrying Linds when they moved their manufacture out of the Country. He said he had an issue with quality.
