I still haven't tossed Storm, Ebonite, Roto-Grip, Hammer, Lane Masters/Legends, a newer Track but I'm loving my 10 year old Triton Elite, and maybe a couple others of the bigger companies. As one point I had all Brunswick, they seemed to match up real well with me. I've tossed a few Visionary's and liked them, a couple Columbia's.

Ironically, the Super Carbide Bomb and Liberator are my two Lane #1 balls of choice.

My least favorite would most definitely be Hammer. I've thrown a few different Hammer balls and none of them matched up to me at all, especially not the Black Widow. I hated that ball.

I'm not too fond of Ebonite either, come to think of it. I'm a Lane #1, Storm/Roto Grip kinda guy I guess.

Howie, to me, you match up with a ball when

a) you get more room on your misses
b) you get great carry
c) once you learn a ball, it is predictable and you know how to manipulate its reaction.

I really can't say which balls I would not have, as I have not tried them all. I do know which balls seem to fit my style best of the ones I have tried. And, because of the fit, there is little reason to change.

I have recently come across lane conditions that I was not prepared for with my arsenal, and that is prompting me to search out some lesser aggressive equipment. You must be prepared for any condition you may face.

So, I am reading this thread with interest. However, I find most talking about more aggressive balls with bigger hooks. That's not what I need. I need a good ball for dryer conditions. Recommendations so far from 3 proshops include, Green Vibe, Avalanche pearl, and T Road pearl.

I have tried balls from Columbia, Ebonite, Storm, Hammer, Roto- Grip and Lane Masters. Although I have had some success with all of them, I feel I just don't match up well with Hammer, Storm, or Ebonite products. Both Hammer and Ebonite died out way too early in my opinion. Lately I have been using Roto Grip and LaneMasters equipment.
I agree with EddieK regarding Brunswick. Once they moved out of Michigan and went to Mexico, I won't even consider buying one.

Dennis,
Michigan has lost so many manufacturing jobs to other countries its getting really scarey in these parts. Its very hard to buy strictly all American products, but when I can, I will choose American made products.

With CEO's who fly to D.C. in private jets to ask for the assist, gotta love that.

I agree, alot of the Big 3's problems are self inflicted. But so were the big lending companies who gave out loans to people that had no business getting those loans, who then defaulted, going into forclosure. The Feds gave them 700 plus billion to bail them out, with over 100 of that going to AIG alone. Why is that ok, and giving the Big 3 a 25 billion loan not. Alot of the resistance is coming from politicians from southern states, who currently have foreign car plants operating in there states, creating a nice tax base for them, if not directly from Toyota, Hiunda, Honda etc. but from the spin off business they generate.
So their motives may be suspect.

As for the CEO's flying to D.C. in corporate jets..an embarrasing moment for sure. Bad PR indeed, and a low blow. How many senators flew to D.C. on a commercial airline? There was a lot of high and mighty guys throwing rocks at glass houses IMO.

Dennis,
doesnt lane Master have the Hornet for light and dry lanes? According to ball chart on lanemaster website they said the ball should be good to for it:
