You're right about that. I just wasn't in favor of the 700B bailout, so I'm not in favor of this one either. None of these companies are going to change their business practices if they don't face consequences for being irresponsible financially. Sadly, accountability for one's actions is a long lost trait in America.

uhm so yeah back to OT.

I have bowled with, pretty much in order, Columbia 300 (Black Knight, Messenger Ti), Brunswick (Power Groove Green/Purple/Silver), Storm (Triple X, Ace, Trifecta, Paradigm), Ebonite (Maxim), Track (Mean Machine, Power Machine), Ebonite, again (Total NV), Track, again (Rule Delta 1), Storm, again (Dimension), Columbia 300, again (Cuda 2000), and i do now have a Storm tour power which was given to me as an early christmas gift, which i have not gotten the chance to roll yet.

Of the previous, everything after the Triple X is still in my possession. Out of those that aren't, the only one i wish i still had is the Triple X; i gave it to a friend who ended up bowling the best out of four at junior nationals.

Of those that are still in my possession,
- The Machines see very little action (though my first 279 and my HG of 290 were rolled with the Power and the Mean, respectively).
- The Total NV is living in a box because it is either dead or drilled wrong.
- The Rule Delta GP1 never saw league action and i don't really even know why i got it, fortunately it was a cheapo on ebay (same for Total NV).
- The Trifecta is not drilled correctly for my game (and i believe that it was not the regular Pro Shop driler who did it, i think it was an apprentice. should look into getting it redrilled perhaps).
- The cuda 2000 is cracked around one of the finger holes, so it doesn't see much use other than that.
- The paradigm and the ace do nearly the same thing, which is sort of odd because they are not for the same lane conditions. nevertheless i chose between the two since they react the same and i picked the ace because it is my favorite ball.

Therefore, that leaves the Ace, The Dimension, The tour Power (which, as i said before, has not seen the lanes yet for me), and the Maxim. Guess that makes me a Storm wh.ore at heart, save for the maxim (which is a plastic ball, and has stress cracking around the thumb hole, so i need to invest in a new spare ball perhaps)

So, that has given me some experience with 5 different ball manufacturers. My favorite is (obviously) Storm, and other than Storm, not much of my equipment has been used in league or tournament play. The two Track Machines were regulars in the bag for most of last season, and the power machine did make an appearance at my most recent tournament. the Cuda 2000 i used for a little while, but then found the cracks around the finger hole and am a little wary of using it now.

At any rate, i think i have babbled long enough. Of those i haven't tried, i would like to throw 900 Global, Lane #1, Dyno-Thane (which doesn't make any new equipment anymore that i know of), Lane Masters, and Roto Grip. Maybe MoRich also.

EDIT: and i realized that the original question was never answered. i think, if anything, i would steer clear of Ebonite and Hammer, since i have also heard (like some others here) that Ebonite balls die very quickly and Hammer takes a lot of maintenance. i don't know if i would touch new Brunswick or Columbia 300 stuff, either. but that may just be personal bias toward Storm as opposed to anything being wrong with the balls themselves. i never had a problem with any of the four balls i had from those two manufacturers, they were just set aside when i outgrew them or when they can't be used regularly anymore (in the case of the Cuda). one of my teammates still has my old MEssenger Ti, but doesn't use it very much because its 15lbs and he is throwing mostly 16lbs.

JedC, I didn't have the Super Carbide Bomb, but just the regular Super Carbide. I think my biggest issue was that it's a particle ball and some people just don't match up too well with particles and I might be one of them.

As for Brunswick, I'm not happy with their move to Mexico, but have owned a few post move balls. I think I ordered one before I realized it was the first ball from the new plant. I know Brunswick used to pour MoRich's ball, and probably still does so they are probably come from Mexico as well. As if it's not bad enough some of the people from down there are coming north illegally and taking my work away from me, and an American company moves a big facility down there to take even more away from Americans.
