I have heard 14 to 16 have a more dynamic cores then those balls lower in weight.

Yep, the lower weight balls usually just have a generic core. So basically if you're buying a specific ball which is light weight, you're actually not getting the same ball as a 14, 15 or 16lb ball - you're only getting the same coverstock, but not the same core.

So, what kind of differences will i see ? And why are the balls made in that way ?

I see you're from Singapore. Do you throw a spinner and use lighter balls for that reason? Otherwise, you really should be able to use a 14 or 15lb ball.

The difference will be in the dynamics of the ball - the generic core is probably weaker than the normal cores.

Keep in mind that a person throwing a lighter ball with a slow speed doesn't need a strong core as it would be bad for his game (the ball could have a really early hook).

Also, it may have something to do with the fact that if you put a heavy core inside a light ball, you have to make the filler between the core and the coverstock really light. This would bring the ball's RG to a very low value - maybe lower than allowed?

Not all balls change the core when they drop below 14 lbs. Some of the Inferno line had a light enough core that it allowed the same core down to 12 lbs and still be with in limits. Some of the generic cores are more along the lines of a light bulb core as opposed to the core the ball was originally designed for. Some balls just have too heavy of a core to allow a lighter weight with that core.

Think of the core as an engine engine. The regular core is like a V-8 while the generic core is more like a V-6 or a little 4 cylinder in the same vehicle, it still gets the tires moving, but maybe with a little less get up and go. Now put the smaller engine in a lighter car, like a generic core in a lighter ball and it will give a similar performance to the regular weight with the bigger engine.

Thanks Luksa and indernocal. I wish i can use at least a 14 lbs to experience the real action of the core. I have one , actually. But kept in the shelf for quite sometime. When i decided to pick up this sport as a hobby again, i realised that i can't even cup my wrist while trying the method shown in one of the articles.
I should say that my wrist is weak and i always envy you guys out there using a 15/16 lb ball. Watching the high rev, high hook, strong backend reaction do pump my adrenalin up. Watching Chris Barnes's cupped wrist (how did he do that ?!?!) , Watching Tommy Jones high rev cranker (how did he do that ?!?!). Its all down to one thing, strong wrist muscle which i do not have.

Getting a proper fit and a free armswing helps things a great deal - once gravity is pulling the ball down, it doesn't take much to let your arm lag behind, which will actually cause the ball to pull your wrist into a cupped position on the way down.

On top of getting a proper fit and free armswing, a little work with some weights doing wrist curls can make your wrist a little stronger and at least step up to 14 lbs. After having my grip re-fitted to at least a correct span and now just having to adjust some hole pitches to get it right I was able to jump from 14 lb balls to 16s. Of course I'm 6 ft, 235 lbs and work in construction often lifting 50+ lb buckets of mud and full sheets of drywall on a regular basis.

Just came back from watching some league games in the alley. Realising that a bowler with a smaller build than i am actually handle a 15lbs and handles it so well.
Anyway, the interest for this sport is getting higher and higher in me. Watched the History Channel and found out that there were only 2 grip holes instead of 3!!!
Anyone knows where i can find sites relating to dynamic and generic cores ? Hope to find out more about it.
