Thanks everyone. She sent me a text tonight to say she made Varsity. I'm so very proud of her.

And, as a side note, the biggest reason I'm so proud of her is that she had to work hard to get her regular class grades up to be able to even try out. She wasn't doing well in a couple classes but stayed after school and sought out some help to bring her grades up. So, bowling has actually helped her in the classroom too.

First of all congrats to your daughter......

My daughter is on her high school team for the 2nd year and all her balls are and were decided apoun by her coach and the pro at the bowling center.. The ball has to work with how she bowls not all balls are right for every person....

myself I use the Avalanche. It works for me but it might not be a good match for your daughter... I know it wouldn't work for my daughter.

she started with a tropical Storm,now she has a Storm dimension, and a twisted fury pearl for her strike balls.... depending on the lane conditions. and her spare ball maxim

the t-zone ball will be a good spare ball, but your daughter and her coach will need to decide on the ball that works well for her.

A very proud moment indeed! Congrats and kudos! I too know the difficulty and struggle involved with managing school work, friends, and bowling. Not always easy but when its done properly it sure deserves some credit!

As for ball selection, there seems to be a sudden onslaught of these ball selection questions on this forum lol. I feel as though similar responses for different questions is helpful. Typically seeing a response I've already read frustrates me when I'm asking a question, but in this case I agree with what everyone has said and that its best to take the advice of the coach and Pro Shop. finding a ball to match the bowler is always a challenge and I find that often times, when trying to self-assess myself and my style so as to determine which balls would match with me best, I end up misinterpreting my own style. An knowledgeable spectator would probably be best.
