OK, so we've gone around, adjusting out League Payout. Grew by 4 teams, then lost 2 teams. We have finally settled with 18, 4-man teams for a total of 72 bowlers. Complicating our calculation was the fact that the Holidays fall on our bowling night, which knocks off 2 weeks of bowling. We had forgotten that earlier.

So, we submitted league payouts just shy of $25,000. It's lower than previous years due to fewer weeks bowled. 1st place team gets $1000. Individual award winners range from $100-$200 each. Plus, every team receives $8.40 per point won of the possible 7 points per night.

I was just wondering how that stacks up with any of your leagues?

Oh, the House also gets paid $23,760 for league costs.

Let me see if I get this straight, first place gets $1000 or $250 apiece, + $8.40/point? That is a neat way of doing it.

Our prize fund is set up by a vote from 3 different prize lists and the one that pays the most for last place usually wins since people are so watered down these days. My league is two 17 week half's with a final position round at the end, but money is paid by the half, with the two first place winners bowling for the league championship and a small amount of money like $500 (100/bowler) and the rest of the league bowling for fun with a banquet and cash prizes with the remaining funds.

I like the $/point way of doing it, does second and third place get money too or just first?

Actually, I added the first place payouts together to simplify. It actually is $400 for 1st half winner. $400 for 2nd. And $200 for rolloff.

Yeah, we payout mainly based on points won at $8.40 per team point. We payout $17,000 total in points won. So, winning all 7 points on a night gains the team $58.80 for the night.

Each half winning teams get additional:
$400 1st
$300 2nd
$200 3rd
$100 4th

I'm not sure of the actual amounts for our league, someone on my team has the prize fun that won when it was voted on. We are broke down similarly to how Jim described. Two halves of 17 weeks and separate payouts for each, as well as a roll off for the winners of each half. We have 44 teams of 5. Our weekly fee is $18 and at least $10 of that is lineage. I think first might be around $200-$250 for first per a half. It was the prize fund that was teh most well balance, not top heavy and not bottom heavy.

Hi guys, I'm back after months out, sorry lots of work.
Ok I'm in 3 leagues, but the one that pays out the most is our thursday night Medical board league. It's 30 teams strong, teams consist of 5 players.
First place gets $3,000, second $2,500, Third 2,000, and so on, the 11th and 12th get $500. team prizes ( high series, high Hcp series, high game, high Hcp game), get $200 each, indivitual prizes are $100 each. Point is paid at least at $ 11 per, and can come up depending on money spent on our pre - christmas Party, and our dr's day party, there's also money coming in from penalty for uniform code ( every team member must wear his or her teams bowling shirt, if not , he or she must pay $5 per.

Oh, the league pays our leagues finals, that is, we play our finals in Las Vegas ( the last 12 years at The Orleans, this year at South Point),we ( the league) pay the Hotel package, and $ 150 for each player for gas or flight. Most every year we end up with $300 or $400 left in the bank, sometimes we buy the guys pizza and beer ( or soft drinks) at the start of the next season, that way we start from scratch, with no mony left. We always give our team captains financial statements quarterly and the final statement one or two weeks after our finals.

That's no where close to what our Wed. league generates in Prize Fund with 18+ teams. But we only pay $13/wk and at least $10 goes to lineage (I think 10.25) and the Sec/Tres gets .75/wk/bowler. So by the time all that gets paid, there's not much left. I've tried to get it raised for years, and always get voted down. $2 X 90 (bowlers) X 34 (weeks) = 6120. I'm not sure of the prize fund break down, but I know you can win this league and leave with less then $75 in your pocket.

Weekly dues are $22 per week per player ( $110 per team, per week), we play all year long in this particular league.

My old Friday league was $13/week most of it going to lineage and a banquet. We finished in 3rd both halves and I got a grand total of $65 for the year!! With individual awards I walked away with $100 for a years worth of bowling.

My Tuesday night was $25/week had 5 per team and 8 teams. We finished 2nd the last 2 years and took home $900/man. With individual awards I went home with over $1k. Teams at the bottom didn't get much it was pretty top heavy.

We pay $18/per bowler for our mixed league. Only have 11 teams (1 blind team). Had 14 teams last year. Don't know the exact payouts but I know it's not alot. I think last year we ended up with about $150-$200 per bowler on our team. I was going to use the money to buy a new ball but with college kids, that didn't happen. frown
