Let me do a quick background.....
I started bowling at around age 10 at some local lanes, eventually joined some leagues etc etc. I had my own urethane ball and had about a 170 average. I was pretty good, especially for a kid.
Well, It's been about 7 years since I bowled and I wanted to get back into it. Problem was, I forgot everything. My ball is an up-rising and its CONVENTIONAL drilled (Yeah, this is the mistake). Is there anyway to make this a finger tip ball once it's already been drilled? Can I pop in inserts or something? I'm not sure if im going to need another ball and end up just making this one my spare ball?
Im not looking to get on the PBA tour here... just want to throw a nice hook ball.
Thanks!

First, welcome to the site. Second, they can plug and redrill it finger tip. Not that big of a deal.

YEP- HAVE TO GET IT PLUGGED- TYPICALLY AROUND 20 BUCKS, THEN 10 FOR INSTERTS OR SO. I WOULDN'T ADVISE USING THIS FOR A SPARE BALL EITHER- SPEND THE EXTRA 60 TO GET A PLASTIC BALL WHEN MONEY IS AVAILABLE, AND GET THAT FINGERTIPPED AS WELL TO KEEP YOUR RELEASE CONSISTANT

Welcome to the site Ohno.
As the others have said, the ball can be plugged and re-drilled finger tip. You don't necessarily need the inserts Inthezone mentioned, but they can make things a little easier on your fingers. Depending on how the ball is drilled now, it might only be the thumb that needs plugged and moved.

Well... the thing is is that the thumb fits perfectly... I really dont even want that to have an insert for my thumb. (would that matter?) The distance is a bit closer, not exactly orthodox finger tip bowling style I guess you could say? It fits my hand very very nice though. The finger holes arent very deep, and it feels like with inserts, I could only use my finger tips. Would that work at all? I read about a mix of conventional and finger tip, but i'm not sure if its an effective method of bowling. I want to be pretty good, but like I said, im not trying to get on the PBA tour or anything Thanks for the welcomes everyone.

How does the ball fit you now? What I mean is how far are you putting your fingers and thumb in the ball? If you are going past your first knuckle on the middle and ring fingers with the thumb fully in the ball, you probably have a conventional span, or possibly a semi-fingertip but not many people do that any more. The best way to go is a relaxed finger tip span. This means the hand isn't completely stretched, has the least possibility of injury and gives the best reaction.
You don't need to have a thumb slug put in, but if you start to get multiple balls it might be something to think about as it would give you a consistent feel from ball to ball. This is because the cover material of each ball is different and most can be very grabby, making it harder for the ball to come off the thumb. Your best bet is to talk to your driller about how the ball is drilled to see what needs to be done.

I guess thats the word I should have used. Relaxed.
My hand is relaxed, it's easy to carry the ball and it's very comfortable. (Im talking about the thumb and finger distance). I used
What im saying is, could I skipp the re-drilling and just toss in inserts? The holes are fit for conventional, that was the problem. I dont like conventional hook. I want the hook of fingertip bowling.
In all honesty, im saying this because it feels like I could pull my fingers out of the holes a little and just bowl finger tip with it the way it is drilled right now.
Would a picture help? I have a camera handy somewhere around here...
