I believe Pin In is less than 2 inches from pin to CG, it might even be 1 inch or less. You don't drill a ball pin-in, it's either pin-in or its not when you get it. Pins around the 3 inch range have some versatility in being able to lay them out for different reactions than a 2 inch but it all comes down to the bowler to really give them that reaction.

The pin to cg measurement is a problem. Don't know where you got the ball, but its notorious for internet sellers to pass off balls like this.

This happened to me once because the site practically hide the specifications box from me. It was a little annoying because I was hoping to have my Cell for CA State Tourney but I had to wait for it because I ordered it Pin-In when I wanted a 2-3 inch pin.

Cal, that's what I thought. I thought pin-in was an 1 or less between pin and cg.

You cannot drill a ball to be pin-in.

Okay I don't want to Hi-jack this thread but I do have one question about The pin and Cg. I just want to make sure I know how to locate them. The pin is like a little dot that is somewhere on the ball. On my ball it is yellow on most I see it is white or sometimes black. Am I correct so far. Alright, the CG is a mark that is obviously not to far from the pin and on my ball it looks like a target. I have seen different things on different balls. But I just wanted to know If I am correct about that or not. Thanks..

Agreed. This includes anywhere from pin virtually on top of the CG to 1/2 inch to 2 inches. The manufacter does this when then make the ball.

Pin up, or pin under, those kinds of terms refer more commonly to how the ball is drilled.

The Pin is the 1/4inch type dot of varying colors that you can find on nearly all balls. Now the CG is a different matter. Each company signifies it with some symbol from a small graphic to a small depressed dot in the ball. It can be hard to find. Plus that may or maynot be exactly the cg. But usually its pretty close. The pin however, is always where the pin is.

Think of the pin as the line that holds the core within the ball if you were hanging if from a ceiling. Around that core is wrapped the cover. But the core is not always perfectly centered downwards from the pin. It can be tilted. And that's where the cg comes in.
