I threw a 218, 175, 203 for 596. I missed some easy spares that I shouldn't have. I don't quite know why yet but I have some ideas that will probably yield the answers. Regardless, I had six opens and two them where in 2 of the three frames that I hate to open in.

I have to chalk most of my success tonight to finding a way to tape my thumbhole so that I didn't have to grab the ball. Nothing like 5 pieces of tape in your thumbhole to tell you, your thumbhole needs redone. Regardless, I had a more relaxed hand and a much easiers and freer swing. I mean I threw my 16 pound Black Widow all night long with great success and a no pain whatsoever. I still think my swing is somewhat controlled because I felt myself doing some of the things I did when I had a more controlled swing on one or two balls. So there is still some work to be done.

I definately need to work on a more consistant release. But tonight was the first time that I got to really feel a somewhat well-fitted thumbhole so I'm not too worried about it.

Anyways, good night. sleep

Didnt have to bad of a day during the junior league. Bowled a 177, 179, and 166 for a 522 series. two opens and the first game and then three in the third. I guess thats not to bad considering the most I alow myself is two opens per game. I wish I could have done better thoughg. But it was above my average so I'm happy.

Thursday League 570 (192-154-224) just too many opens. Though we did take all 7 points and moved from 6th to 3rd place. If i can eliminate at least two or three opens a night could be averaging much better. Working on getting more conistent with my spares in practice recently getting there.

I've been bowling pretty awesome lately. I shot 224, 258, 253 for a 735 series, then followed with a nice lovely 188. (started with the front five too... lovely eh.) Still shot 923 for 4. Average at 208 now. Hope this keeps up for qualifying, haha.

Good job to everyone else who is bowling well though, everyone keep posting scores!

My average is hanging in there at 218. up 15 pins from last season.Last couple weeks have struggled in first game. Last Thursday I went 168-212-268 for a 648. First and second games i had pocket 7-10's after a double in the second game it was after openning with a turkey and following with a strike. Both balls although on opposite lanes reacted the same. The ball skidded past the break point just slightly before turning coming in a little weak. Was expecting a weak ten, but was devastated when I saw the 7 pin standing as well. Oh well stuff happens. I will trip a 4 in the middle of turkeys one night. That is why they call it an average.

Bowled my first JBT today, but I went -24 missing the cut for semi-finals by 5 pins. That's thanks to missing some spares, a 10, a 7, a 3-10, a 3-6-10, and a 3-6-9-10. I had a couple splits too. I was completely capable of going +50 or better but I had troubles adjusting as well as some approach problems. I felt like I couldn't hit the same place twice although I was in the area a lot. It was one of the easiest house shots I've ever bowled on, until I got hit by serious transition. I can chalk some of my problems to fit issues since I lost the ball a little early a good number of times, causing me to miss right with less hand. And there was a bit of an OOB area outside 5/6. I think it was possible to stay a bit right and play that area but you lose any chance you had of missing in and still having a decent shot compared to staying in, so I didn't try it. I wish I would have thought of looking further down my line for targetting, I was on 32 with my feet by the end. It was just getting harder and harder to make a quality shot after game 3, over/under I guess. I kinda think a ball change might have been a good idea but I always prefer to change my release/line.

Oh yeah, and there was sort of a mental block on the right lane when it came to right hand spares, because the ball return was only one row but it went about 2-3 feet longer than normal ones. If I wasn't tall, I'd bump my trail arm into the end of it in mid-swing. And even so, I still felt like I had to "go over it" with my arm. It's really dumb because if you need to get in front of the ball return, you won't be taking more than one step for your approach and I'm pretty sure you'd hit it in the backswing anyways.

Well. I threw my first 700 on Wednesday in my bowling *ahem* career.

Some guy on our team shot a 782 bowl off which was shocking even so he's just a new guy to bowling and just play out and in shot but rarely adjust like my other friend. But, its a game and I was happy for him.

There was only 4 people bowling on the pair of lanes tonight since 4 were missing and this was a great opportunity for me to get a good series in.

Started off the first game with 5 strike and my buddy was like.. you want a 290 like the guy that bowled off. So I ended up with a 242 but I got jinx in the 6 frame when I threw the ball and all pins crushed around the 7 pin and I was like.. what? lol but I spared it up and moved on.

2nd game was 9-spare and strike combination and I did have a split but I just finished off the game which wasn't rough but just a few mistakes but I was happy to end up with a 214.

Third game, I was focus on just getting a high 600 or another 200 game but I knew I was within reach of a 700 series and knew it was possible but I had to remind myself to not think about it and just bowl. Just focus and bowl. Even had to do a few breathing exercise during pre-shot routine to just to unwind myself from getting too excited.

So I am on a row with 6 strikes for the first 6 frames and I get a 8 count split and miss a single pin. I am not mad and just happy that I got this far. While the ending of the 3rd game is closing in. I look at the score just to see what I could end up with.

I said to myself I need to strike out from the 8th frame. So I strike the 8th, spare the 9th. So here I am thinking that I could be in the high 690s which I never done yet but I want to go for a chance at 700 here. Strike one and two of the 10th and went to pick up my ball and ready to bowl the last ball of the night.

Just minding my own business, just a quick glance at the score and I am just 10 pins from a 700 on the dot. I know what I need and I can do it.

Suddenly, my friend say you need a strike for 700. I turn around and told him to shut up and laughs. And I strike out the 10. Smile on my face, hand in the air and excitement as I turn around.

So, I am getting a 700 patch, a 150 pins over average and 2nd highest on the league sheet for high series.

Now, its time for the 800s and 900s. smile

Like I said somewhere in one of my earlier posts in this thread, one of the hardest things in bowling (i'm beginning to think it's the hardest, at least for me, anyway..) is to read lane transitions. I mean most of us can see that it's breaking down, but sometimes that's after a ball goes straight through the face, or when the ball skids and barely touches pocket. Making the adjustments before that stuff happens is when you can really beat lane transitions. But good job Amateur, first tournament of the season, that's not too bad. Just look on to the next one.

Ripz, congrats on your first 700! It's one of those achievements that really isn't so easy to get, but once you do, I bet you'll find it much easier to do when you're bowling well. Keep it up!
