good recovery after that "open."
something similar to that happened at my league on saturday, but not with the ball falling into the gutter. one of the bowlers on the pair next to me had left the 3-7-10 after an errant shot, and the next ball he stuck at the line and began to fall forward over the line. however, he kept his footing and stayed behind the line, though he crouched down and his hand went toward the lane, but from where i was standing (and i had a good view) it did not look like he touched the lane with his hand. He converted the split and no one said anything, until the mother of one of the members of the other team complained that his hand hit the floor and went to the league coach/director, who came over and removed the spare and gave him a foul instead. what made this more interesting was that she was standing almost directly behind the bowler, so she had no vantage point as to whether he had touched the lane with his hand. Needless to say, the bowler and the rest of his team, along with the bowler's father, were all livid that the spare had been changed to a foul.

If that was the case, there would have been finger marks on the oil. That should show if he touched the lane or not. IMO oil smudges pretty darn early. Somedays it seems people are out to get other, it's those to move on and turn it into good thrive though the situation. Then the instigator relizes how much things backfire when they add fuel to the fire.

The good news is we won 5 of 7 points. We won by 153, lost by 134, won by 127 weird night. As for me I did better than the scores show for the most part. I rolled 211-196-206 but the first game I threw a split in the 9th derailing any kind of good game. 2nd game 9th frame I left a stone 10 pin and missed it by a hair killing that game. 3rd game I was on a double and over hooked leaving the church in the 10th. I left a lot of pins on the table due to sloppy bowling at key points. You get what you deserve some nights. Tonight I got just that I suppose. The average is slowly dropping, I'm at 211 at the moment. Not bad for this particular center but I'm better than this....or use to be.

Bowled last night, after a couple of weeks off due to Pneumonia. Shocker was that I had to pay back fees of 3 weeks. I thought I only missed 2. Oh well, illness has affected my memory too.
Shot 226 with an open tenth, split. Second game, 2 opens for a 202. Third game, fell apart due to being really tired, 182. So, 610 for the first night back. Still averaged 2 opens per game.
Team won all 7 points.
Interesting thing, a woman coach teammate had 247 is each of her first 2 games. Started each game with a 7 bagger. In the third game, she sat 187 in the 8th with a strike up. She needed to strike out in the tenth for another 247. She got the first, then left a ringing 10, spare, for a 236. No triplicate.
But, 730 was not too shabby for her. Another teammate had 709, and another had 689. I was forth high. Poor Rich, our fifth, had an off night.

Glad to see you got back on the lanes Dennis. I debated on posting my wonderful night but I will. We lost all 7. Guy on other team had a 160 average and gets a new Cell drilled just before bowling and shoots 670 against us. The rest of his team all shot over average by 20 or more pins each game plus we were giving them 130 pins a game.
Ok, now on to my scores :193,255 Last game deserves its own line.
134(yeah thats right a [censored] 134 and I had a 96 in the 6th frame) AWEFUL(you name the split I got it)talk about falling apart. I used my terminator all night. Everyone around me was calling me a bagger which pissed me off even more. I just totally blanked from the 6th on. Can't even explain it. Was I drunk?Nope-just AWEFUL

Yeah just responded. With what I bowled last night I'd be ashamed if I bowled in that

As I titled my blog, I think I'm still in a funk, b/c this was the third night in a row at the low end of the 500s. This week was very similar to last week in that I made enough spares to stay somewhat in it, but couldn't really get anything lined up until the last game. I have a lesson tomorrow, but I'm not sure what I need to work on, but improving my spare shooting could be on the agenda.
Team was fortunate to get one point (first game) against the first-half winners, and we lost the third game by something like 114 pins after still having a chance to take total after 2 games.

My spare troubles continue. 2 per game. Actually, 7 opens over the 3 games, but 2 were splits. So, 5 makable spares were missed, a 10, 7, 4-7, picked the 8 off a 2-8, and chopped a bucket.
Games were 198, 196, and 204 for 598.
Bowled the first place team tonight and we were a man short. Won 5 of 7 points.
Interesting note, an opponent asked why I roll my spares so slow compared to my first ball. I hadn't realized that before. Maybe I am trying to steer the ball. I have no confidence is spare shooting.
Good thing is I averaged over 6 strikes per game. Opens are killing me.
