My little brother is thinking about buying the Track Uprising. It looks like a good ball to me, but I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with it or Track in general? Are they a good company? Anyone had issues with their products? Thanks for the info in advance.

Every company makes good balls. The real question is, will your brother match up with that ball? Is he looking for a certain reaction, something to use on a certain condition, or does he just think it's good? What other balls does he have?

He only has a power groove and a plastic ball, both of which have very little hook potential. He wants something stronger for oilier lane conditions. I'm not sure if a somewhat weaker ball than the uprising is in order, but it looks to be a good ball, and I would hope that it would be a good fit for his game.

Being that this is a ball that I have, I am going to speak from personal experience. The Uprising is a great ball and was drilled to read early and roll. It is a solid ball for me and I like it, but it really depends on how he throws the ball. I might suggest getting something a little bit weaker but a more powerful ball than the power groove. I have the Kinetic Pearl, and that has turned out to be a great ball for me. Another ball to check out that has a great overall hook and a great ball would be The One by Ebonite. I would try out those before an Uprising. Besides, these balls might be a little more versatile than an Uprising. It also depends on how you get it drilled.

Good luck in your ball search.

Yeah. He isn't much of a power player. That's why he wants a pretty strong ball. He doesn't put all that many revs into his release, and he would like the pin action of something a little stronger. I know that you can kill the hook on even a strong ball if you release it improperly, but I think that he could probably get a fair reaction out of something like the Uprising. I do see your point however howie. I hope it isn't too much for him to handle. Guess I'll see what he decides on. Thanks for the advice.

this is the best ball i have got. i love my Track stuff and this ball is one of the best i have rolled. and i've rolled a good bit here lately. Ebonite owns Track and i think that Track is better than Ebonite itself. just my opinion. i like my kinetic energy also. its a great ball and i have so say its right up there for me. the uprising can play the whole board for me and i have it drilled pin up and it goes a little bit longer and hits like a mac. its a good ball. so have fun and good luck ball hunting.

hi there, i also have a Track uprising. its the only ball i have at the moment, but i love it. every now and then i find it has a bit too much zip on it on certain conditions and have to make a few adjustments with my release. i hope to get maybe a kinetic pearl/energy a bit later for those times. it doesnt take too many games before the ball starts scratching up....but it still works bloody good! i havent been bowling for too long but the ball has improved my game at least 20 pins and im still getting better (i think, anyway) Good luck and Good bowling...

I recently got a Track Uprising and had pretty good results with it. It rolls very smooth and shatters the rack. It hit so hard that the guy behind the desk at the lanes said to me as I was leaving for the night that he heard a couple of my strikes with it and noticed how hard it hit and how much force it drove in. He said it sounded like someone got shot when it hit the pins lol!

However, this ball is a nice ball, probably a bit stronger than my other balls actually. (Also probably has to do with the way its drilled compared to my other balls). But it is a bit less controllable than some of my other balls. The backend is a bit more angular whereas if your brother is moving up from a power groove, which was my first performance ball, and has not only a lesser hook potential but not as strong an angle, jumping into something like that may be a bit of a challenge. Not at all impossible, but like has been said at least once here already, if the ball matches him then its great. If not so much, there may be better options out there. Truly, a good Pro Shop could watch the way he bowls and base a ball choice based on his form and release as well as what reaction he's looking for.

The power groove is a great ball for the money and for the control and reaction actually. But if its something stronger you're looking for the Uprising would definitely fit that, but so would other balls that may be easier to control or handle, depending on his style of course. For example, prior to getting the uprising I bowled with an Ebonite Predator and then more so with an Ebonite Playmaker. The key is that there are many wonderful bowling balls out there, but finding those that fit the bowler is the hardest thing to do. I started liking Brunswick balls but after talking with the local Pro Shop and some more experienced bowlers I found myself to fit better into the Ebonite and Track company's products. Sorry if this got really long winded, I just got typing and couldn't stop, but one final thing to do, which may be too obvious to even state, is to research research research. I found it VERY helpful to check as many websites and customer reviews as possible. Its really useful when you can find reviews from both ends of the spectrum, the very experience bowlers as well as the beginners. Seeing what both have to say can really give you an idea of what the ball can do in many different bowler's hands. Best of luck!

I had my eye on this bowling ball since my last trip to my Pro Shop. I went back today to find a possible early B-day present to myself lol I trust the guys there and usually pick their brain as they usually throw everything on the wall. The one guy didnt have much good or bad to day. The other guy was not a fan at all! He said for the guys that have a lot of hand they werent finding good results. He's a 225-230 average bowler and always bowls in tourneys, regionals, etc. Despite that fact I had one drilled up 16#. Literally nothing jumped out to me except some ugly bowling balls with horrible names like hammers new Sauce (supposedly that ball is vicious, came highly recommended).

I went home healing leg and all and threw my 1st 4 games in a few weeks. This was my first ball company other than Storm or Hammer. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. The ball definitely gave me a different look to the pocket than what Im use to. I love the solid back color and the white label shows you a heavy roll that pours on in the back end. I noticed I did leave but one split in 4 games. I was on used open play conditions that were on the drier side but my 1st impression is this was a nice addition to the bowling bag. It looks to be a versatile ball as I could cover the lane with plenty of back end finish or play straighter all with good carry.

As I've said earlier, this ball is really great. I was using last week and when I got to the lanes they were fried. I've never bowled on lanes this dry before and I literally couldn't keep it on the pocket side. I ended up working out some kinks with my release and my approach, which made the poor lane conditions even worse, and found myself bowling two or three boards left of the dot one left of center. Even when my release got me less revs than I wanted and the ball hit light into the pocket it still carried like a train. I actually have found this ball to have a problem with pin action though... the only thing about that is that its almost too strong! I have noticed pins literally slicing around the 10 or the 7 even when I hit dead flush. Thus far this is the first ball I have thrown that I can actually put too much on it. Once I got my act together with my release it made a huge difference and I was bowling pretty well even for toasted lanes. Hope they won't be that bad tonight though
