Well I had a par night last evening. I shot a 144, 177, and closed up with an whopping 118 for a 439 series. I was able to take an individual point on my 177 game and I took the series against my guy with handicap. Unfortunately my team was unable to get anything going and all we took were two individual points. Better luck next week.
On my 118 game my thumb swelled and the ball kept hanging up on me and because of that I hardly had any revs or ball motion. The sad thing is that I've recently been bowling with 1 piece of white textured tape in the front of the hole and up to 1 piece of smooth black tape in the back. When my thumb swelled I removed the piece in the back but apparently that was not enough. I will be getting my thumb slug reamed out some or changed out for a different sized drilling to prevent this from happening again. I could have had a 500 series if it wasn't for this.
I must be starting to do something right as my one teammate that missed out last week commented about my ball's reaction on the lanes. He was surprised that my ball is making it back to the pocket from as far right as I was throwing it yesterday. He stated that before when I got it that far right that it would just skate down into the 3 6 pocket. I told him that over the past few weeks that I've been really concentrating on my release and working hard at it. I'll be calling today for my second lesson with my coach and I want her opinion on how I'm releasing it and what I need to do to get it better and more consistant.
I also had a teammate cancel out on me in the morning and I was scurrying around to find a sub. Well I was able to Track one down and he turned out to be a really good bowler. He's a 199 avg and bowled pretty well... 240 first game 211 in the third and he bowled bad enough in the second game that I ended up beating him scratch. Even with his skills we were unable to take a game. Now only if we can get everyone on the same good game cycle we might have a fighting chance to get out of last place.

Hello everyone.....I sure didn't intend to take the summer off from the board, nor did I intend to wait so long into season before posting....
Any ways...new year, new house. Little bit different from before...I am having a tough time getting going...I started out the first 3 weeks of the year absolutley abysmal...I will not post the scores even under duress. ...However...the last three weeks I have bowled very similar, ranging 580-595's....so I am starting to creep back and now have my average around 179...still a bit lower than the other house last year...but I feel like things are starting to click....however, my old nemesis is back...the nineth frame Open has gotten me quite a few times this year, to help knock down some potential good scores .....

Melissa, Just what tune were you singing on your way to 668? I need to see if I have that on my I-pod....LOL.
I think the song in my head lately is "Your no good" by Linda Ronstandt....heh,heh
Ok, now keep in mind that I have a 5 year old and a 2 year old at home that watch the same movies over and over and over LOL!!! They have been watching the Alvin and the Chipmunks movie so I have the Witchdoctor song stuck in my head. Its also on my MP3 and we have to play it in the car - ALL THE TIME. When I didn't have that in my head I was repeatedly telling my self to "slow down".
Brandon - thank you very much :-)

Nice shooting Melissa. Its been a long time since I've seen a set that high.
Now to comment on the too much/not enough beer debate. I don't drink much, but my second highest series was on a night when I had a few beers, ok more than a few. Last Saturday everyone on my team but me was drinking, it only helped one of them who almost kept up with me score wise and was well over average. Two of the other three didn't do too well being way under average and the last one was average. I was thinking of joining in, but with 5 people already draining a pitcher in one cup a piece that gets a little expensive. Besides I'm not big on draft, and didn't feel like walking up to get my own, especially since I already had a Cherry Coke in front of me.
