Didnt have to bad of a day during the junior league. Bowled a 177, 179, and 166 for a 522 series. two opens and the first game and then three in the third. I guess thats not to bad considering the most I alow myself is two opens per game. I wish I could have done better thoughg. But it was above my average so I'm happy.

Thursday League 570 (192-154-224) just too many opens. Though we did take all 7 points and moved from 6th to 3rd place. If i can eliminate at least two or three opens a night could be averaging much better. Working on getting more conistent with my spares in practice recently getting there.

I've been bowling pretty awesome lately. I shot 224, 258, 253 for a 735 series, then followed with a nice lovely 188. (started with the front five too... lovely eh.) Still shot 923 for 4. Average at 208 now. Hope this keeps up for qualifying, haha.

Good job to everyone else who is bowling well though, everyone keep posting scores!

My average is hanging in there at 218. up 15 pins from last season.Last couple weeks have struggled in first game. Last Thursday I went 168-212-268 for a 648. First and second games i had pocket 7-10's after a double in the second game it was after openning with a turkey and following with a strike. Both balls although on opposite lanes reacted the same. The ball skidded past the break point just slightly before turning coming in a little weak. Was expecting a weak ten, but was devastated when I saw the 7 pin standing as well. Oh well stuff happens. I will trip a 4 in the middle of turkeys one night. That is why they call it an average.

Bowled my first JBT today, but I went -24 missing the cut for semi-finals by 5 pins. That's thanks to missing some spares, a 10, a 7, a 3-10, a 3-6-10, and a 3-6-9-10. I had a couple splits too. I was completely capable of going +50 or better but I had troubles adjusting as well as some approach problems. I felt like I couldn't hit the same place twice although I was in the area a lot. It was one of the easiest house shots I've ever bowled on, until I got hit by serious transition. I can chalk some of my problems to fit issues since I lost the ball a little early a good number of times, causing me to miss right with less hand. And there was a bit of an OOB area outside 5/6. I think it was possible to stay a bit right and play that area but you lose any chance you had of missing in and still having a decent shot compared to staying in, so I didn't try it. I wish I would have thought of looking further down my line for targetting, I was on 32 with my feet by the end. It was just getting harder and harder to make a quality shot after game 3, over/under I guess. I kinda think a ball change might have been a good idea but I always prefer to change my release/line.

Oh yeah, and there was sort of a mental block on the right lane when it came to right hand spares, because the ball return was only one row but it went about 2-3 feet longer than normal ones. If I wasn't tall, I'd bump my trail arm into the end of it in mid-swing. And even so, I still felt like I had to "go over it" with my arm. It's really dumb because if you need to get in front of the ball return, you won't be taking more than one step for your approach and I'm pretty sure you'd hit it in the backswing anyways.

Like I said somewhere in one of my earlier posts in this thread, one of the hardest things in bowling (i'm beginning to think it's the hardest, at least for me, anyway..) is to read lane transitions. I mean most of us can see that it's breaking down, but sometimes that's after a ball goes straight through the face, or when the ball skids and barely touches pocket. Making the adjustments before that stuff happens is when you can really beat lane transitions. But good job Amateur, first tournament of the season, that's not too bad. Just look on to the next one.

Ripz, congrats on your first 700! It's one of those achievements that really isn't so easy to get, but once you do, I bet you'll find it much easier to do when you're bowling well. Keep it up!

it kind of funny but i bowled all house yesterday. thats right house shoes , house ball , and house beer. i was out with with my wife and she wanted to go by work and see what she had to work next week. so i got a beer while there and had a brilliant idea that i would try to use a house ball and shoes just to see what i was like a long time ago. boy how i forgot that them house shoes are horrible. no problem with ball but shoes was a different story. now to the score - 100. i only shot 1 game. used a 15lb house ball and a big beer. mite have had something to do with it but i was wanting to have some fun so i did. laugh
100. i mean on the dot. awesome. thumbsup

Thanks Satyuros. Me making the cut and going plus at that was a matter of a few spares I should have made. That's my biggest concern. My problem when the lanes transition is, like you say, I catch it a bit late but it's mostly because I'm not hitting my mark consistently enough to really see it. The deeper I got the more the OOB affected me, but I think I have to admit the reason I struggled more than anything is I was just plain stubborn to move. I hate swinging the ball to be honest, and I hardly ever have to do it as much as I was. I'm kinda bad at that shot as far as accuracy goes as well as the fact that the lanes were pretty dry. A little more accuracy and a better ability to use lower rotation consistently would have made it a much better day.

Well bowled in a 8pin no tap tourney on Sat. After my league night of 754, I bowled a whooping 724 in a 8pin no tap. What a humbling experience. Two mistakes a game will kill you(splits).
