Monday practice session 137 too many opens to count Very odd that the lanes are slick, being that it's spring break & started practice @ 2. Should have just stayed home. 195 Better game. Just one open in the 2nd. Struck the 5th thru 7th. 210 1-2-4-10 in the 1st leaving the 10, plus a 8 leave in the 6th. Struck 7th thru 9th plus first 2 in the 10th. 214 Open in the 5th. Struck out in the 10th. 217 Struck 5th thru 7th. 2-10 split in the 8th leaving the 10. 224 Open 8 pin in the 8th. 4 X's to finish (199 avg. for the day) Lanes opened up after the 1st game. Found a decent rythmn. I actually like to bowl with the chaos that open bowlers create, good practice on patience & concentration. All in all a good session. Just need to carry it over to Wed. night.

212,179,240...630 series..
Happy overall.... A few opens tonight sadly, with a 4 bagger in first game and a 7 bagger in the last...
Little errors cost so much...Lucky, as stringing strikes helped out..

202 234 191 for a 627 series. I shoulda had about a 640 or higher. Stupid mistakes, i missed an important single 10 and then a single 9 pin. For some reason i turned my wrist wrong at the last sec. and missed each of them. But oh well i'll take the 627 i bowled good and i felt really good how i was rolling the ball.

209-190-190, 589 series. Bowled OK, but only OK, once I got the thumb holes straightened out. I had to put 5 pieces of tape into my spare ball thumb hole, and 4 into my strike ball. They fit me fine the last time I bowled two weeks ago. I couldn't believe how loose they were. Couldn't string more than three together at any time though, and I think I missed 4 makable spares, including 2 ten pins that I dumped into the channel before I got the thumb straightened out. Can't wait to get the new ball, because I'm having to play a real outside line with the Tropical Storm, and it's pretty dry out there and not forgiving if the speed or release is off even a bit. On the plus side the new micro-fiber towel I got soaks up oil like a sponge.

Bowled a 234 and a 210 with my trusty Hy-road...Not bad considering I just picked the game back up.

Saturday league I shot 152, 154 and 208 for 514. Was not getting much strikes in the first 2 games but did ok picking up my spares for once. The 3rd game had a 5 bagger going into the 9th when shot 6-7-10 split( bad for that). For some reason I have had a lot of 5 baggers and have NEVER been able to get 6 in a row. Its like a curse. x,9-0,9-0,x,x,x,x,x,7-0,xxx. Would have been a nice game just to have marked in the 9th. Its funny that you say that regarding stringing 5 in a row and not getting to 6 in a row. I started bowling last year and have noticed a pattern, at least it was that way for me... 3 in a row was tough to get... but once I did, they kept coming 6 in a row....once I did they kept coming (most ever in a row for me is 9xs.) 200 game, once it came so did many more... 600 series, once it came so did more... Its funny how you have a barrier, once you break that barrier, those goals become more frequent and the bar gets set higher.... It will come trust me!!!!

Boy, did we have oil last night. The ball was all over the lanes. And, it wasn't just me, but all across the lanes. In a league where more then half the bowlers are over 200, the cut scores in the survivor pot were 198, 204 for the first 2 games.
It wasn't that the oil was too much. It was the carrydown that caused much of the trouble. Every bowler ruined the line for the next. You couldn't maintain the same line for 2 balls. And, the 2 lanes played differently, too, by 5 boards. Really made for a challenging night.
168-191-232, and we lost 2 of 3 games.
Funny how the conditions bothered most bowlers except one of my teammates. The one who shot 300 a couple of weeks ago. That night, he shot 793. Lsat week, he shot 79?. And, last night he shot 799. 3 straight weeks of 79X and still no 800. He is on a roll.

Bowled 192, 237,277 = 706
In the 277 game split first frame- 1 board adjustment on both lanes bingo next 10 then 8 count.
First game alot of 10s and 7 pins. Saw that throughout the house last night. Couldn't use my Rogue I was hanging up in the ball so I used my Sting all night.

Great practice session tonight. 245-217-229-226, but it wasn't the scores that were great. It was because I was supposed to be trying out my new Furious, but the thumb hole was too tight, so I ended up practicing with my old Tropical and just focusing on my timing and release. Made two adjustments that really paid off. First was just starting my push-away sooner, which helped my timing immensely. Second adjustment I made midway through the 4th game, was moving my hand position from about 4 o'clock with my fingers to 6 o'clock or slightly past (hand directly under the ball) - wow - hit my mark every time and finished with a six-bagger the last game. Better revs and better power at the pins too. Can't wait to try it out when it counts.
