cg, thinking the same thing. The last time I practiced, I shot a 32 score. My lowest. But, I was only shooting the 10 and 7 pins. Really helped my spares.
Now that I think of it, there is an Industrial league on Fri at noon:30. They always need subs. Since, I didn't bowl Wed, think I will mosey over there today.

Last night 551 (189, 182 and 180). Like you Brandon I should have been better but chopped off several multi pin spares and wasn't finishing real strong. Plus the 2nd game I threw one in the channel on a turkey.

Those were the scores when I was actually keeping score, when I practice certain things like ten pins then I dont keep the score. I bowl free so it doesn't matter if I keep score or not. And yeah that was trying to keep score. So I do pretty much like Brandon, I work on things and then keep score.

Honestly, I only remember my practice scores if someone points them out else points them out. Like a friend comes along and says, "An 86! What happened?" I usually just reply that I'm working on strengthening my release, working with different lines or ball speeds, trying to get a free swing, or working on timing, ya know things like that.
A great idea is to go with someone else and have them throw the first ball, and you throw the second one and swap each frame. It's what my dad and I do and it works out pretty well.

I subbed in a noon league today. I was introduced to this league last week by a friend of mine. They always have openings for a sub, and I was welcomed.
Today, I was introduced to all of their side pots. Oh, they have the poker game, which I had to get into. There was a skins game where you had to have the only strike in a frame over 4 lanes to win. or it carried over. They had a strike pot which said I had to strike in every frame, including a strike out in the tenth, but over the 3 games. A king of the Hill match for the entire league.
I was having trouble holding a line, since the lanes were not oiled yet. I shot a 199 to start, but my strike in the 8th won 8 carry over frames of the skins game. I went out to my car and got my old Warp Zone, with a more controllable arc. I shot 222, winning another 6 frame skins carryover. I won the poker game, and my second game of King of the Hill. The third game was no contest, 267. Won the poker game, the King of the Hill, another 6 skins, tying in the 10th with another bowler, and the strike pot. The strike pot had not been won in 5 weeks and rolled over.
So I shot 688, and came home with $135 more dollars than I left with. And, I didn't pay for bowling since I subbed for another.
This league may not want me back.

Well considering my bowling alley doesnt have automatic scoring, I have to pay attention to my score and I keep all my score sheets. But today I focused more on what you guys said. I didn't pay attention to my score and just shot 10 pin on first ball and then strike ball on second for a game or two and then went to 7 pin on first and strike ball on second. (and sometimes it would be 7 pin on both balls or just whatever lol) And then I played a couple of games to see how my scores were after I could accomplish my spares. I shot a 177 and 190, not to shabby. Lol
Dennis, $135 isn't bad at all! especially since you didn't have to pay! I agree with these other guys, you may not get to bowl in that league as a sub anymore! Lol. Nice job!
