Last night I was approached by the owner of the pro-shop thats housed in the center I bowl at. He also bowls on the league I bowl on. He's been after me for a long time to buy a ball from him. He knows at one time I was interested in the Cell, and he asks when am I going to buy the new pearl Cell from him. I told him I just bought the Sting and he starts telling me that its a bad ball, and Lane Masters balls burn up quickly. I explained that just the opposite is supposed to be true, actually Lane Masters balls are supposed to last LONGER, because of the quality of the material used in making them.
We had a little back and forth discussion on it, I don't think he agreed. Most likely he was a little upset that I did not buy from him. Nothing personal I told him, but I'm happy with my ball driller, who is also my coach. Besides they have a mold of my thumb, so all my thumb holes are exactly alike. I just found it somewhat amusing that he did not know LM's reputation or he got them mixed up with Lane 1.

Tim, he obviously does not know Lane Master Balls.
My Terminator is 2 years old and shows NO sign of quitting. My Conqueror is in it's second season, and still can't get enough oil. My BigRBang has been refinished to 4000 grit polished, and is finding medium lanes to its liking.
None of the balls show signs of wear or oil absorption. And, they all hit really hard, and carry the light hits as well. The entry angle of my Conqueror repeatedly trips 4's on high hits. People swear there is someone behind the pit knocking them over.
Some people need the newly available stuff. I can't find a reason to put any of these on the shelf.

IJohn, FYI, the old Pro Al, who sometimes works the counter, wanted to check my bal spans. He took a piece of paper out of the copy machine, laid it across my balls and started marking on it. Then laid the marked paper on the other balls. He was the one who found that one of my balls had a span too long. I complained about this ball twice, and was told that this is the only ball with finger lifts, and that was the problem.
Well, had it remeasured. It was 1/4 long on the middle finger and 3/8 long on the ring finger. Had it redrilled, and it fits like a slipper.
Thanks for the paper measure process, Al.

Dennis, Thats what I thought too. If you are in the "business" of selling balls , you should know a little about them. You don't have to like them,..just do a little homework.
