It's hard for me to understand how one can leave the cover on their sliding foot. Don't you spot your foot on the lane, at the dots or on a board?

If that happens, one can easily see the shoe cover.

idratherbebowling, it helps to check if your slide sole has gotten water on it too. Either way you might have pulled your quad and possibly your hammy... Just be careful with it. Ice and heat, plenty of ibuprofen as well.

Dennis, I'm with you there, I've told my buddy several times... "don't you look at your feet when lining up your shot?" lol

I'm with you Dennis. I don't know how people go through the approach with the shoe cover on, other than they don't really line themselves up correctly. Like GP, if I'm not on the lane my cover is over my left foot. I've gotten stuff on my slide sole while still in the "settee" area. Like CG said I slide my foot on the approach some before I even set up, plus I look down to spot my foot at the board I'm starting on.

Now sticky approaches are another issue entirely. If I ever find an approach that is so bad that I can't adjust my shoes to be able to slide I won't be bowling.

Every ball, before I step on the approach, I slide my foot on it a couple of times to make sure I didn't step in something. I've avoided a couple of injuries by doing this.
