Slowing down or relaxing? A lot of people, myself included get those two confused when it comes to bowling. From my experience, that is watching myself on
tape, when I "slow down," I have super controlled swing instead of a free or in my case, freer swing. When I relax I throw the ball much better and more natural.
I only bring this up because my first year the thing I told the most was to slow down, slow down, slow down. And now after a year of bowling I found out that everything I thought I had learned to be correct was wrong and I had to scrap my swing, approach, release, everything because it was all way too controlled as a result of me being told and me slowing down. What all those people meant to say was relax, not slow down.
So I'm just lookin' out so you don't encounter the same pitfalls that I did. Now I'm not saying charging the line is a good idea, but relaxing will help.
