Hello,
After about a 20 year break from bowling consistently (leagues/open) I am back in full force. I started in a parent/child league this summer with my son where I finished with a 180 average. I'm now in two winter leagues 193/183 averages + open bowling one or two times a week. When I started this past summer, I only had my old black
Hammer which I bought back in 1986. After some reading about the Reactive balls, I started building my arsenal to cover all the possible lane conditions. I also bought a ball spinner so I could better take care of my equipment and experiment with changing the covers for different reactions.
I seem to be doing better now with the new ball/lane technology than I did years ago where I had about a 17O something average at my peak. However, back then, I bowled in houses that had wood lanes instead of synthetic lanes where I bowl now. Out of every three games now I usually shoot a 200+ game. There are times I have a hot streak and shoot a string of 200's and yes there are also the occasional bad ones that seem to pop-up as well. It seems like I've really been bitten by the bug this time because I now do allot of reading, practicing and someday I would like to participate in some tournaments.
One thing I do notice different from 20 years ago is I don't remember my leg/arm muscles being a little sore after a rigorous
practice session :-)
