Well Thursday was almost exactly like Wednesday. A 598 on Wed. and a 595 on Thurs. A couple of splits and some real dumb shots, including throwing one in the ditch on the last ball in the 10th frame after staying clean...I'm hopefull that my timing is coming back... smile

210-224-191 625 Not to bad of a night. Missed 2 10pins, chopped the 6 off the 6-10 and left the 10 off of a 3-6-9-10. I have been having troubles with pulling the ball 1-2 boards and I seemed to have fixed the problem by looking a board or two right of where I want to throw it.

Before I went to league I gave my vapor zone the hot water bath and it seemed to have drawn out a little bit of oil. I noticed the difference in reaction on the first ball. It has over 200 games on it and hasn't had a bath or a resurface.

Just a little help on that spare if you don't have a good idea of how to shoot it. I have always found it works (with every bowler I have ever helped) to move your feet 5 boards left (for righty) and throw at the same target. The ball will look like its going to miss but it will recover just in time to clip the 5. The key is to trust the ball to the mark and just let it flow free. It will respond, if you don't trust it you won't make it.

That depends on how you throw at spares. I throw straight at them, even using reactives. I've converted the spare several times by coming off the corner more, but my first option is to get the 5, and if I get the 7 too so be it.

First off, I don't remember leaving a 5-7 for quite some time. But, as sk8 says, I would move my feet a few boards left and roll at the same lane target. Just a tip, don't slow the Terminator down, cause it will pick up more rotation from that angle and turn through the 5.

Another decent series spoiled by one game. 224-183-216=623 The middle game I moved left and it was either an strikes or all splits (4). I moved back to the right and cheated up and finished OK. I basically wasted 3 frames going to the Uprising(7/spare, split, split). I just cant make it work so I expect to have a new 3rd ball in the sig. before long.

On a side not we have swept all points 3 weeks in a row. I dont ever remember starting 12-0 before. Tonight it wasn't the anchor or I who did anything special we just filled frames. Our lead off female bowler (anchors wife) prebowled 179-247-186 with a 163 average and the 2nd place bowler did his part (509) and over average for the 3rd week in a row. I coasted this week next week I need to give a better effort.

Tonight was a good night. Just a tad more consistant and I would have a 700 set. 207-210-255. I blew the second game. I opened up in the 9th frame and in the tenth I struck then 8 - open. We lost that game by 2. Only won one game and that was the first one. Didn't much help from my teammates. One guy on my team has a bad knee and going in for surgery on Monday. Hopefully I can get him back by summer so we can gear up for next season. But I'll take a 672 set. I been doing really well since I got the Storm Hy-Road 3 weeks ago.

Another night of league and another sub par performance. I didn't go early for a few warm-up games like I have been doing. I didn't get as many throws in during practice since I was constantly messing with my shoes to get the right set up for tonight. It seems different lanes' approaches aren't the same this season, at least not with my current shoes. I also ended practice on a bad note. Shooting at a 7 pin on my last throw I nail my slide ankle with the ball, the worst time yet since it still has a mark and at one point was bleeding just a little from some skin coming off of it. This threw my spare game off mentally for the whole first game. First balls I was still fishing for a line to the pocket, standing 20 playing up 10 was hooking too much. I end up standing 25 or 26 going for around 12 or 13 at the arrows out to 7 around 40 feet. Sometimes that still wasn't holding pocket if I got a little slow or out to the dry a little too soon. I had 2 splits all night, one in the second game and one in the third.

First game was a 160, with many opens, all really makeable but I would release the ball well wide of my body due to the previously mentioned mental problem. Most of the spare attempts went left since I think I would pull the shot at the same time.

Second game was a 158 and that included ending the game with 4 straight strikes and a spare before those. I only had I think two marks before then. I realized I was throwing the ball too fast and just wasn't getting a good reaction in the beginning of the game. I was still having the mental spare issue form most of it as well. I also almost hit my foot with the ball on spare attempt.

Last game was by far the best, a 178. I miss a 7 pin in the first frame, I hooked at it and it went past it. I pick up the 10 pin throw 4 in a row then don't get a good release and leaving a beautiful 7-10 split. I get a Brooklyn strike, then miss a 3-6-10 when I don't set my body up to put the ball across the lane. I end the night on with a 496.

As a team we won 3 games, the first by 105, the second by 40some I think and then last the third by around 40 something and kept total.

169-144-170 = 483

1st game was some splits, 3 opens and cant find a line. I stood at the right line. At 11th frame, I got 7-6 split but I made it. 2nd was horrible for no mark the line that I switched to centre line. Only 4 strikes, 5 opens, and 4 splits. 3rd game didnt go 200+ that I got 5 opens, 5 strikes, and 2 spares.

From Thursday,

Good night for the team as we went 3-1 and are starting to work our way back to .500.

As for me I am falling into an bad pattern where I am having one good game but falling off in the rest. I shot a 497 (145, 200, 152). Most of it is due to not executing my shots. I have to get the focus back I had at the beginning of the league.
