I made a commitment to my team, and the league respected me enough to draft me into the VP spot. Without my approval, mind you. So, not being a quitter, I will stick out the year. I am putting together a team for next year at another House. There are too many good bowlers, and some friends too, who feel the same way I do.

Here's the bottom line. 2 years ago, there were 2 men's leagues. Mon Nite Sport (14 teams), and Wed Nite Classic (16 teams). Both very competitive. The House decided not to be bothered with the weekly taping and reporting, so they did not sanction it as a Sport league. They lost 9 of 14 teams the next year. 5 new teams got added, but not sport bowlers.

This year, we lost 2 teams, and the Sport league folded. So we absorbed 4 teams from Monday, now totaling 18. After this year, the Wed Nite will be in the same boat as the Sport of last year, they will lose teams and bowlers.

I blame the Ast Mgr for this. He decided Not to register the Sport League. He filled that league with substandard bowlers. He determined the shot for Wed. He talked our Pres into picking up the substandard bowlers. He thinks he runs everything. Well, he is screwing it up. This house will not have leagues in a few years.

Even the 2 women's leagues have complained. The answer they got was that Our league wanted the new shot. Nothing but a LIE. They have bowlers quitting too.
The Fri mixed league started with 20 teams, and are already down to 12, with a Vacant.

twice, due to humidity my house's floors got super sticky. this is a horrible condition to bowl in. every time you go into your slide you don't know if you are going to slide or stick. it really puts the hurt on the thigh and hip when you stick. it really messed up my delivery on those two nights.

Dennis:

I know that you were upset at the time, but I find the taking the bowling balls our of your car funny. When your having a bad day, nothing is funny though.

Last night was an eh night. I shot 216, 191, 222. I left a lot of pins on the lane. My release was good last night but I was having a hard time hitting my mark. I found that last night, staying behind the ball wasn't getting the right "pop" at the pins. I kept leaving soft 10s. When I started getting around the ball, I was having a much better time of it. I missed a few spares last night too. That is back to not hitting my mark. I think that there is something up with my approach that is causing it. I am not square to my mark at the line like I should be. Lastly, I need to get a few abralon pads and hit my Special Agent. It is started to get a shine to it. I want that ball dull.

Dennis,
Man that sounds like an aweful night. I will never complain again about Lakes or any other house. You should come over to Lakes on Tuesday's next year. The League was sponsored by Budweiser this year so 1st is 2 grand,2nd 1500, and 3rd 1 grand. This actually has brought out some of the best bowlers to the league and has made it very competative.
Good luck with your House. Hopefully they will smarten up

Its a shame that an Asst. Manager, with an ego that needs stroking is screwing up not just one league, but all the leagues in the house.

Kinda reminds me of A certain General Manager that just lost his job here. Maybe if enough people complain, the house will make a change.

Dennis,

I respect you for hanging in there but would fully understand if you quit. It cannot be any fun having to put up with all that garbage.

Dennis:

I understand your frustration. Going to the alley and getting beat'n up on night after night because of poor management or dumb people is not fun. But, you have an obligation to your team and to the other people in the league who are not idiots. I am having issues in my league too. I have already decided that it is too much of a headache. I am going to bowl in an alley closer to my house. I have 4 within 10 minutes.

Wow Dennis, that sounds horrible. I respect you for hanging in there, as I dunno if I'd stick it out. Glad you showed those punks what was up at the end of the night! Rule #1 of bowling... DO NOT mess with another man's bowling equipment!
