Seriously though, there's a whole lot less BS in leagues around here. What is up with people thee days. No common decency anymore. Pretty friendly out here it seems.

I bowl in 3 Houses. 1 has a problem and it is trying to compete with a new Big B party House that was built not very far away. The new one has NO leagues, is not USBC sanctioned, has indoor laser tag, Game Room that is huge, and other indoor activities like bumper cars. Cosmic Bowling all week. And, serves as a day care center on weekends, since parents just drop their kids off all day.

I guess that's where the real money is.

Bowling rates are $25 per hour, and $40 on weekends. Cosmics pay a lot of money to do their thing. And, figure every kid on a weekend has a $20 to spend from the Dad, and there are hundreds of them through the day.

Whoa, I got 3 posts, and I know how it happened.

Amateur, somehow your computer changed the quote you referenced.

Dennis, I understand and feel your pain, my friend. I have been in that sticky situation myself. It is no fun to have to be on the wrong end of an angry bowler, and about all you can do, as a league, is threaten to leave at this point because, for 30+ weeks, you're held hostage at that bowling center. I don't know what you pay for lineage, but 70+ bowlers wanting to leave would make me raise my eyebrows and question if the way I'm doing business is actually the right way because that's a lot of guaranteed money going out the door right there.

I don't want to get into the whole "league versus recreational bowler" debate again, but anyone, and I mean anyone who doesn't at least entertain (not to say "cater to") the league and their ideas is the biggest idiot in the bowling center. There are very few bowling centers in this country that survive purely on open bowling, and those are mainly only in metro areas (Atlanta has one bowling center like that).

I would like to think that if that house is faced with the prospect of losing 50% or more of its league money, it would change the way it thinks about your league and the other ones as well. Besides, the assistant manager isn't top dog on the food chain. Take your gripe to the actual manager, or, if available, a GM or owner. It might not get you anywhere, but at least you might be able to figure out where the stupid business philosophy comes from. Until then, maybe have a league meeting and air YOUR grievances to the league and let them know you are doing the best you can.

Awful tonight. 175-161-194 = 530. Couldnt get any consitent line down until last game realy. Had to deal with the lanes being torn a part with open play and bumpers. One lane seemed totally opposite of the other lane.

Though did win 2 games and total for 5 pts out of 7.

Wow, Another incredible night for me. I have improved each week so far this League. I shot a 603 (183, 210, 210) just my second 600 series since my comeback. We took 3 or 4 and I have established at 192. Right now I am just in one of those zones where I just have the right combination of focus and Execution. Hopefully this will continue because I am going to need it!!!

Not a bad night for me but I didn't do too bad at all. I bowled a 600 series tonight. Out of the past 10 series that was my lowest series. I subbed 3 times earlier this week, 676, 679, and 647. My goal of a 210 average I think Is possible If I keep it going.

topnight was my first time playing on the cheetah. Not as dry as I thought it was going to be. Played with the Dimension, standing right ft on 27, breakpoint at the 7 with speed a lil slow. Threw 189 then 183. Some carry issues and inconcistant hand. 3rd game switched to the Venom, tried the same line but the ball seemed dead. Threw 4 frames to make sure it wasn't my hand. 5th frame I moved from the 27 to the 21, breakpoint at the 5. Threw nigt harder and make sure I had lift and extra revs on the ball to make the turn. Threw a turkey then a gutter in the 8th OUCH. Finished with a 199. 4th game started playing tricks on my head, I was scared to throw another gutter and I couldn't get to my breakpoint, kept throwing to the 7 and hiting really high but no churches. 3rd frame I made it a point to push it our, threw to the 3-4 and got a wash but no gutter. After that it was on again. Banged out a 225. Which was my highest game and only game over 200 since I started this PBAX. Threw a 796 series for a 199 average!! Pretty stoked on this, a good move. Now I know how to play this shot. And the vemon has a really strong back end move. LOVE IT!!

Geez I stink,
If I can ever get my act together and get rid of these splits, I may actually become....a "bowler". I am so disappointed in the fact that I am having trouble adjusting to actually put the ball in the pocket after plowing through the nose over and over.

I make a move,..I cross over brooklyn. I try another move, a washout, 4-7-10 split, 6-7-10, ..8-10. I had a real nice variety. I did make most of my other spares, but again the splits, and lack of strikes are killing me. I'm close, my timing and balance are much better..but I'm not quite there yet..obviously.
