Someone did this last year as well. They were about to get a reaction out of 6000, but 8000 and 12000 were like glass on ice. The snap is created because the ball sees less friction in the oil, saving more energy for dry. If it has no friction on the dry, it will continue to store energy, all the way into the pit.

I remember that too. How well it worked out I can't remember. But if you have drier conditions and the pattern is layed out to be inside/out (Thinking Big Swiss tournament in CA) then you might need to have something like that. I know there are a lot of polishes out there and you can get a pretty good shine on a ball if you need the length.
