I'd like to thank everyone for their extreme patience and understanding the last few weeks.

Tracking down the exact cause of the white pages and double posts has been very time consuming and difficult as the problem was intermittent and elusive. Despite this, I think I've finally found the cause and fixed it! In addition, I've rebuilt our databases, made several other optimizations, and hardware upgrades that will further help improve performance of the site and the community.

All the RAM and hard disks on our servers has been replaced and increased. They now have triple the amount of dual channel RAM and much faster WD GreenPower hard drives that offer a power savings of 4-5 watts.

I've also changed our ad delivery process and it's resulted in the biggest leap in performance of the site. I think you'll agree that pages have been loading much faster.

The forum's built-in search engine has been reenabled but I've also made a few improvements to our Google Custom Search (the search box at the top of every page.) I believe the Google Custom Search is much better at finding exactly what you're looking for, and since it is less resource intensive, I encourage you try using it over the forum's built-in search.

One problem remains
but requires your HELP to fix.
Please go to your Messages and delete all your read private messages. Presently the private message database is over 3.5GB and this is absolutely too big for a site this size. Because of this I've had to dramatically reduce the number of messages everyone is allowed to store. If your message box has exceeded this limit or becomes full you will not be able to receive new ones. (By the way, if you don't wish to receive messages at all you can turn them off in your Preferences.)

OK, that's why I got no responses from my last 2 PM's. I had 26/10 allowed. They never got them, did they.

Probably not. If they exceeded the new limit the wouldn't receive them.

i only had 2. so my pms were not affected

Oh no it's not. Since the last warning, I have been keeping my message count under 10. Just like we were asked.
