I hope I can keep mine going up also. Just went and bowled a couple warm up games before tonights league. I was just messin with my release points and trying different angles. I think I need to speed my ball up as I am just trying to be a stroker but keep crossing over to brooklyn side on my first ball. I am starting at about the 5th board and throwing it down and in but it is just crossing too much over. Hopefully i will be able to build on that tonight as I have already had some practice trying to avoid it. regardless, Good luck to all of us, (Tyveil, mutilated1 and myself) with league tonight and thanks to Bikedad for his constant support.
Murph

Good luck to all of you for your leagues. Murph, maybe moving in a couple of boards and keeping your target where it is might help. I know there is not much room for error when you are out that far but if you can hit your mark most times, it could stop the ball from going too far across. Anyway.. looking forward to hearing how you all get on. Cheers.

Hey all, good to be the weekend again Monday league went bad for me, shot a 140-170-140. The strange thing was that I felt really good through all of those games. I think my Monday night conditions are a lot tougher because there are 9 other bowlers bowling the exact same line as me. That and it just wasn't my night. The spares and strikes came spread out. But.... my form felt like it was very good, I was hitting my marks very consistently, as I was also able to move around to different locations, slow down and speed up my delivery to change ball speed and rotation. Everything felt good. Hopefully that feeling converts to good scores tonight! It's a new weekend! Good luck all!

Hi Tyveil, I know what you mean about feeling good and not scoring. My last effort was dismal as far as scores went but I felt as though I bowled well. Like you, hitting my mark and getting into the pocket but splits and leaves galore! I was able to string a couple of turkeys during the eve but half a board either side was disaster plus I got some leaves I have never seen before2-7-8-10 (twice) and its mirror image once. I only got one of them. Not to worry - next week is the penultimate game for our season (week 43 of 44) and my team is positioned 4th but only half a point off third and five from second - no pressure! Catch you all later, good bowling to all.

I'm looking forward to Sunday when our team again makes a move for the top spot. Last week I didn't do too bad, a 195/241/204 for a 640 series, I hope to improve upon that on Sunday and also my avg which stands at 201. I believe we're in 4th right now, could be 3rd. We've won this league the last three years running, it would be nice to do it again. Last season, we won with only three members. My wife and I are the original members, she herself had a 603 series last week, only her second 600 series. I hope for another sweep like last week. Good bowling this weekend everyone!

Not much better mutilated, I went first game 134 with 4 splits. Not really bad balls but a little deep on 2 of them and a little light on the other 2. Couldn't string anything together. 2nd game was a 154 with alot of the same. No consistantancy. I was moving around all night trying to find what "my" line is. Thrid game a little better with a 191 but opened in the 7th and the 10th. I am about to give up on my ball. this Storm eraser particle ball is just to inconsistant. It is over 3 years old. I have been looking at a couple of the roto balls. Not ready to hit the switch yet though. A couple more weeks and we'll see. On a better note we took all 7 points as my boys stepped up. prior to the beginning of the night we were trailing the 1st place team by 5 points. I know they lost at least their first 2 games last night so we were able to at least close some ground. Bigbowlla300, good luck Sunday night, sounds like you and the mrs. have figured your house out.

Hi guys, condolences on the scores! Bowling against a vacant team (we have one in our league as well) is tough work. I always try hard for those coz they should be easy points, but always wind up struggling. There just doesn't seem to be the same motivation as when you bowl "live" opposition. Murph, I also own a particle ball which hasn't seen much lane time recently mainly because the oil conditions do not suit it. What you describe (wandering aroung the approaches looking for a line) happened to me as well. The oil pattern was really too light for a particle ball which made it very touchy and difficult to control. You might throw two almost identical balls and get completely different results. I went to using a urethane ball which wasn't so fussy about the light oil and it worked well. Since those conditions have become a regular feature at my house these days, I am going to polish the particle ball to a shiny finish to see if that stops it gripping on every variation of oil it finds on the way down the lane. Don't give up on it yet, but you may need an alternative as a backup when conditions don't suit. Good luck all.

Well, I didn't have the night I wanted, but it was going well. Stated off with a 289, hit 10 straight and on the 11th, which was a perfectly thrown ball (everyone else said so), hit the pocket, shredded the pins but....left a solid 7. Second game, lost concentration a bit, hit a 217, the third game, even after making the necessary adjustments, hit a miserable 143 for a 649 series. Should have had a 750 or better. The worst part, we only won one game. Had to spot the other team 109 pins, but we've beaten teams with larger handicaps. My wife and our anchor didn't fair well either. The wife only had a 510 series and the anchor with a 609. I guess there's always next week. We may not have won, but I achieved one thing, I managed to increase my avgerage. Have a great week guys and HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!Don't eat too much to where you cannot bowl on the weekend.

Hey Bikedad, That's the longest league I've ever heard of! And ending at a strange time it seems. It must be year round with 8 off weeks? Our league is 35 weeks and it is the longest at our alley. bigbowlla, Are you guys actually bowling this weekend? All the leagues at our alley are shut down for a week. But my team is going to have to come in and practice anyways because we are playing the #1 team (we are #2 close behind them and took 4/4 from them last time we played) the week after. On any night I would love to play your "bad" series. Your bad is 10 pins over my record best As far as my weekend league went.. eh, it didn't go too bad. Shot a 519 series (173 average, 13 over my 160). So my average has been going up pretty much every week. We won the last 2 games by about 30 pins apiece, the first game they won by 150 so we split total points 2-2. Should be enough to keep us in 2nd or at least close to it.
