Well, had a blast at my league night tonight. Didn't bowl miserable, but had to work quite a bit for it. Right lane was nice, left lane had a nice over/under reaction going. Happy I got the grips in my old Ebonite Turbo, it did take care of the condition, just need to work more to get used to it again. Wish I switched to it earlier in game 1. Threw my Time Zone on the right lane. 184, 225, 203 for a 612. Strikes were hard to come by, I had 3 opens, all on splits. Happy that I was 100% on my ten pin conversions, I left around 5-6. I've been slipping on those as of late. Team took 5 out of 7 on position night which was very good. Hopefully, next week will be a bit smoother! Mark

Ok, I'm out my slump on wednesday and sunday, but still 10 pins below average on friday for the 4th week in a row. I average a nice 187 last sunday and a 180 on wednesday, but tonight it was back to the old ways. I average a 160. The worst part is that we lost all 7 to the other team. It seems I keep having problems with oil. The other two leagues are way drier shots. And I haven't had time to get my Total Shock & Awe resurfaced yet. I think I'll be heading out to the Pro Shop tomorrow.

Boyah, just rolled my first 800 series in 2007 (4 games). I thank my spare ball for that result, since i only left two open frames over those four games (both of which were the ''unmakable'' 4-6). I converted both 5-7 and 4-5-7, and if i hadn't done that i probably would've been left with a lousy 190-something average Just kidding, i'd take a 190 game anytime. Frisk - Trosa/ Emil Eklund

Congratulations on your awards, Mike. The magic may have been washed out of the shirt but it was still a solid series to follow up with - cool. Welcome MKirchie, that was a nice solid and consistent series as well... keep hitting those spares, they keep the scores up there! I know that since my spare shooting has improved, my scores are more consistent even if not that much higher. I don't have to rely on getting a bunch of strikes to make up for missing spares. Strangely, since the spare shooting has improved, I am getting more strikes... there is a lesson in there somewhere! Lefont.. good to see you are on the way back - well done. The Oil problem is tricky and, in my experience (limited as it is) it usually means bowling an area of the lane that you are not familiar with... practice and experiment a bit during that league. I usually bowl the Track (10 board, down and in) when I encounter too much oil, see where the ball breaks and how much, then work from there. I have had some big games in oil as the line doesn't seem to go away as fast as when the lanes are a bit dryer. Keep plugging away - you'll get it soon. Hi Frostbreath - nice series... very consistent. Anyone would be pleased with that. Keep it up. Cheers to all, Allan

Thanks Allan for your advice. I actually bowled today on pretty heavy oil and wearing a wrist support for the first time. I bowled my third 600. 201, 214 and 189 for a 604. I bowled this series with my TS&A... so like everybody says, it's not the ball the problem, it's the bowler.

No. Not yet. But I was able to bowl really good with it, so go figure. The Pro Shop was closed this weekend, so I will drop it tomorrow.

Nice job Lefont.. the ball came back to life when there was some oil around? Congrats on the 600 series... I am gonna get me one of those this season, dammit! Summer League tomorrow... we will see how things go. Cheers to all, Allan

Well Friday night for us was rough. We lost all 4 to a low-average social team (maybe 120 team average) who didn't really bowl well at all. I managed to scrape by just getting my average with a 520 series. My teammates all bombed, horribly. My wife had 30-under per game while the other 2 teammates bowled 20-under + per game. My wife just had an off night, I'm not too disappointed in her because her average is 20-points higher than it was last year (mid-160's now was mid 140's last year) and she's had some great series. The other 2 teammates however I get frustrated with. Neither takes advice or they just don't take it seriously. One of them drops the ball nearly every shot and he always stands in the same place, the center of the lane. I've offered him tape and or powder which he refuses, and he won't move his line - or he says he moved his line and yet when I watch he still starts and finishes in the same spot. The other just has a terrible swing. His elbow is bent at nearly 90 degrees on each and every shot and he's muscling the ball like he's throwing a shot put underhanded. He cannot seem to get the concept of how to lock the elbow. I just don't get it and its frustrating to watch.
