Nice series Brandon almost a six. It's good to win those close matches After having a pretty decent Friday league I lost it Monday. I think I was around 470 series. Lanes dried out and I kept chopping through the head pin again. Still experimenting with my release without a wrist support. It's amazing how much I can change my reaction just with a little different wrist positioning. It seems I do very well on medium to oily conditions playing the right side or center of the lane. It's once the lanes dry out and I have to move left of center I struggle. Still hope for a 600 tonight I think I'll go in early and practice before league.

Greetings to all. It looks like the high scores are a bit cyclic at the moment... it is a little frustrating when you know you can score well but it just will not quite work for you some nights! Last week, my son and I went to the lanes (Sunday morning) and bowled three games of practice each then bowled a serious head to head series of three.. result was predictable but I managed 617 series (my first) with 230, 176 and 211 but son rolled 233, 230 and 251 for 714.. oh well, I was pleased with my series anyway. On Tuesday we bowled in our Summer Doubles and I couldn't get it right at all! Four games (167 average) with a high of 189, low of 138 (I think) and series of 669 - only 50 odd pins up on the three games series a couple of days previously! Back to the drawing board, more practice.. it will get there eventually. Keep up the good work, guys and I look forward to your posts and progress reports. Cheers, Allan

Well, I did bowl practice on Tuesday. If you recall, I bowled 570 last Friday and 576 on Monday. Both walking like Herman Munster after my injury to my hip. Well, since it was going on 4 weeks since my injury, and I did manage to bowl twice, I tried to get into my slide more. I have been exercizing and going to therapy, and I can squat on my hip. So, I tried to stretch the slide.
It was great, strike, 8pin-spare, strike, strike, strike, strike, strike, uh oh. Hip pain!! Not a bad one, but enough to make me quit. Packed up and went home. Called the team and backed off on Wednesday league. Didn't bowl as a sub tonight either. I'll wait til Monday and try the Herman routine. Then, maybe, I can get back on Wednesday. I have missed 3 weeks there, and I miss it. This is frustrating. Will all of you please, bowl well so I can feal good about you, at least.

I just can't seem to get out of a slump. I've been bowling under average for a couple of weeks now.
On wednesday I average about a 154 and tonight I average a 162 with only one game above average (186).
I think I need to go back and get another coaching session and have my coach let me know what bad habit have I picked up that I'm not able to tell.
I have been leaving a lot of splits. On wednesday alone I had five 2-4-10 splits. And I did pick up three of those. But anyway...

To Mike: Wow that's some great shooting, keep it up.
Sounds like everyone else is in a bit of a slump. I have been too but it seems things are starting to roll uphill again. Only got a 530 last week but that's still a bit above my average (not much - only a few pins) and I ended with a 204. I hit a lot of strikes but they were alternating frames, seems thats been happening a lot lately.
My 3rd game has consistently be the best and thats when I remind myself to just walk normal to the line. I think when I don't do that I have too many pauses and adjustments mid-approach. I'm going to try and start with this mindset from the beginning and hopefully be back to post about my first 600 in the last 3 months. With tournament season around the corner (2 next month and 1 the month after) it's time to start heating up.

Great shooting Mike. Frostbreath.. nice to see you back and back into winning ways... cool! Looks like the rest of us are having to work hard to stay around our averages... my last outing (Summer Doubles) wasn't too bad. My average in this league is 156 and my scores for the four games were 151, 155, 157 and 160 (156 av). I bowled well all night without getting the results that I would have liked. Lanes were oily with a lot of carry-down which placed a premium on accuracy. Mine was as good as I have ever been but I blew a lot of holes in full racks... wow, I have never had so many splits! Forunately, I was able to convert quite a few of them (as I said, my accuracy was good that night) to recover to reasonable scores. Not a worry... next week is another go at improving. Keep up the good work, folks, and good bowling to all. Allan
