I am a former duck pin bowler of thirty plus years. I carried an average of 142. This was many years ago when I was 40 years old. I am now 57 and have been bowling with my son four years now. My first year I carried 178 average and have found improvement difficult. I believe I need instruction to help me improve. Could someone recommend a coach in the Southern Pennsylvania / Northern Maryland area.

Thank You

I would suggest that you visit the "find a coach" section on Bowl.com. I know there are several in Mechanicsburg. You may be able to find someone closer than that.

There is going to be a clinic at Bowl America Gaithersburg in Gaithersburg MD. The coaches are Ron Clifton, and Dr. Jeff Briggs, Ron is a current writer for Bowling This Month magazine, and Dr. Jeff is a former writer back when BTM first started. There will also be 2 other silver level coaches around to help you work on your game.

The website is currently down, I will post sign up info as soon as possible.

Welcome to the site.

Welcome duckpin.

A coach is definitely the way to go. I don't the quality of any of the ones that might be close to you though.

Most bowlers will plateau at around your level without coaching. But if you want to take the fast lane to improvement, engage a coach on a regular basis.
