hello all,

got a question here for y'all that i hope y'all can answer...i'm thinking of getting a spare ball, but it's going to be a rubber one...i know that most spare balls are plastic, but does it really make a difference or does one have more advantages over another?...also do pro shops still or would they drill a rubber ball?...thanks, hope y'all can help

Yeah, I don't think it really matters whether its rubber or plastic. Either will do.

The biggest issue for old rubber balls for pro shops, is that they dull the drill bits down real fast and they permeate the shop with a burnt rubber smell for most of the day.

We'll plug and drill/redrill them, but we might charge more, plus put it at the end of our daily schedule so that the shop has time to air out for the next day. Some pro shops will refuse to drill rubber balls. Rubber balls are dinosaurs. You might have problems getting it drilled locally so check that out first before you think of getting "a deal".

But the all mighty dollar deal might cost you, to get it drilled. Plus make sure that whatever product you are buying to get the free rubber ball is a premium ball with a good cg to pin location etc........ Of course if you have warrenty issues you will have to go back to your internet seller on both balls.

My Hammer Blue Spare ball was drilled, with grips for $65. Was a good investment. I should use it more.
