"The People's Tournament" is an unsanctioned tournament club that runs tournaments at my house periodically, and today, I was entered in that for the first time, marking my first tournament appearance since I came back. I blogged it at the link above, but to sum up, it was really a struggle for me to break 150, as I only had a 499 series with handicap, missing the cut by a lot. They put down a heavier oil shot than what I see in my Wednesday night league, and it was clear that my High-Voltage wasn't cutting it on the shot. I'll just chalk today up to a learning experience, and I'll post about the results when they're posted on the tournament's web site.

Is it Me? Or is it the Olympics?

Somehow, the title "The People's Tournament" sounds like it should be held in China.

Richie, welcome to the world of oil. You'll get the hang of it.

The People's Tournament site reported that Don Lango (205 avg., AMF Silver Lanes {CT}) was the winner of the August event at Westgate Lanes (which I had participated in). Lango defeated Elliot Miller (170 avg., Westgate Lanes) 263-215 (with handicaps) in the title match. Additionally for the locals, Maya Christie (120 avg.) finished third, while Jim Yost Jr. (194 avg.) and Sean Richard (208 avg.) also made the top eight.
