I explained why I thought you were wrong. I gave very detailed points. Here was your quote:

No details. What about Outlook do you actually like better?

I checked out seeqpod. It has very little functionality - it seems to be a pretty limited media library browser. I tried to "Discover" some new progressive rock - I typed in progressive and it didn't know anything. I was able to browse to an artist I know is progressive though, so I'm not sure what discover is supposed to do? In any case, do you have any examples of webapps that you think look great on an iPhone, that have more functionality?

I wasn't trying to show you functionality with seeqpod. I wanted you to see the difference between a website and a webapp for the iphone. Your website is normal on my phone and is not optimized for the iphone.

Another site to check out is www.deviantart.com

This looks different on the iphone then a normal browser.

I said nothing about functionality.

By the way. It's all about preference. Don't you get it? If I prefer outlook over gmail, what do you care? If I prefer native apps over web apps, what do you care? This was not about what is better. It was about what is out there. You decided to turn this into a debate rather than answer my question, which you completely wasted my time. If I ask a question about bowling please feel free to answer it, not argue why your way is better.

[quote=Why then wouldn't every application be on the web?[/quote]

Now, that's a great question. Just look at what Google is doing with Gmail and Google docs. Those web apps essentially are replacements of Outlook and Microsoft Office (which is very expensive). I use Google docs a lot and I really like it. It doesn't have all the features that you will find in Office, but it is getting closer and closer. We are heading in the direction of more and more applications being web-based, and for good reason.

I think that is the point others are trying to make, is that most OS dependent apps can be created on the web and then they are no longer dependent on the OS, so they can run on anything. In most cases, the web apps can be just as functional.

The main down-side to me is that web access on a lot of phones is not very user-friendly, and is slow and costly. Hopefully, those issues will be resolved in the near future. That is why I am hopeful that Google will blaze the trail in this area.

Here is the problem. This was never meant do be a discussion about web apps. I just wanted to see if there was a native app on the iPhone or if someone knew if one was being made. Personally, I dont care for web apps on my phone. I prefer native apps.

Then everyone said that I should use web apps because its better than native apps and has the same functionality. But to me it doesnt matter. Its not really my preference nor my question. But thank you for the insight.

In the end, i think I might have hurt some feelings by getting mad and using the phrase "[censored]" undecided
