Last night went really well for me. Went, 235, 213, 268 for a 716 in my Thursday night match play league. It was a good night. We played a really good team and we won 13 out of the 20 points.

Our Monday night league meets next week. Not sure if it's a "meet and bowl" night, but if it is, then so be it. I don't know what I'll be doing for a team because ours ended up nearly 15 pins over the cap, so we need to do some "shifting". If I can bowl with the 2 lower average guys or the lowest and second highest, that would be nice. I'd like to keep at least one of them because I enjoyed bowling with them. Monday will be the only league I bowl in due to time and finances (mainly finances), but it's better than nothing. I might sub, I might not. Depends on how I feel and what's going on at the time. What will be most interesting is how I start. I have only bowled once since this league ended back in May, which was a Saturday night jaunt to the bowling center with a date July 4th weekend (uh, we won't talk about her). Of course, being a late Saturday night, the lanes were fried and I expected that which is why I brought my "burnout ball". I shot a 140-something, a 252 and a 170-something using no hand and a 2 foot hook zone. Of course, I couldn't pick up a spare to save my life, but, hey, the 252 was fun. Not that I'm having a potential "deja vu moment", but last year I didn't bowl but once since leagues ended and I nearly shot a 300 the first week, so things may not be all that bad. LOL Anyone got a spare crystal ball?

GunsTariq, Your day will come! Don't worry! Just keep at it and practice! Eventually a 600 series won't mean that much to you!

We started up my one and only Winter league last night. I rolled 205-242-242 for a 689 series. Some people were establishing averages but it looks like we took 2 of 3 games and the wood is iffy depending on the handicap. Going to the new handicap system with min. average of 720 per team didnt deter people from throwing good series. I saw at least 5-6 700s last night on opening night and a few people were way over their usual averages. It's a small league but filled with the better bowlers and should be a lot of fun. I plan on subbing now and again, one day isnt enough if I want to make a strong showing this year.

Started my first league last night. 5-man teams. And, boy, did I see the difference in the lane transition. My friend and I usually bowl together and he has a slightly higher average than I. Well, he had a 240 to my 230 first game. Then the oil was gone completely. He followed with a 160 to my 170. Both of us leaving some bad splits. I changed to a weaker Storm ball, and although I had some poor first ball counts, still fought for a 190 something. He continued to struggle. I shot 594, under my average, while he managed 610, under his average. But, we had a discussion about the lane conditions afterward. We roll similar lines and probably hurt each other moreso than the other bowlers hurt us. We don't know what we won since the other team had 3 new bowlers establishing average. But, If my calculations were correct, we won 2 games and total. Better start than last year when we went 3 weeks before our first win.
