My friend currently has the Cell and gravity shift and wants a ball that has more hook potential. He told me he wants the uprising or archrival but he said he decided on the uprising. I was just wondering if this is a good choice since i personally don't know.

Thanks!

The Cell is one of the best hooking balls around and the uprising has more back end reaction. It all depends on what you are looking for and what kind of you are getting off of the lanes that you are throwing on. I think the Cell will have more mid lane recovery since it isnt pearlized.

Uprising is pearl/polished ball so it will go further down the lane and have more back end. Archrival is solid and will pick up in midlane and make its move sooner.

He wants a ball that hooks more than Cell? Has he tried to changed the surface of ball like take it down to 800 grit and see if has more hook for him? Or maybe he not matching up ball with the conditon.

humm the up rising is the best ball i own. i shot 5 games with it s last saturday and only moved 2 boards and never had to put much into it. never scored below 180 with it either. its just simply an amazing ball. it has a lot of back end and it can play from 30 to 3 and still hook over to far sometimes. hard and hooking and back end what more can you ask for laugh

Neither of those balls will hook more than the Cell, but I think they'd be stronger than the Gravity Shift. What conditions does he play on? Those are already fairly strong balls, so maybe he would be in more need of something along the lines of an Avalanche, Wrath Dead Flush, or Street Rod for lighter onditions.

I'll vouch for the Wrath Dead Flush. Great ball for lighter oil conditions. That's what my house lays down and it's my go to ball.

hey Sproulbowl, im a newbie to the forum. i've only just got back into bowling and purchased the up-rising. i'd only ever had a old Ebonite gyro pro from trash and treasure for $5. WOW! what a difference, it took me a while to work it out(well, im still to perfect it) but its got a lot of hook. sometimes you think you put it out to wide, like really riding the rim of the gutter and it seems like the ball has a radar searching for the pocket and just smashes them(i love that feeling!)i only have the one ball now so i have to use a house ball for those 7 pin spares(im a lefty)because the uprising would never get there unless i really slam it down straight, but then you lose accuracy. overall i love the ball and highly recommend the Up-rising. Cheers...
