well weve had three days of try-outs and today was by far my best day in which i scored 213(great) 159(bad) 266(GREAT!!)=average of 213! and to beat it all, 266 is my best game! The team is posted tommorow but not to worried about that!

well the second game i only through two strikes, the lanes started breaking down and i couldnt adjust that well, i also through three splits, which automatically is 3 opens, one being in the first and another being in the worst spot, the tenth, which i almost picked upt tho! =(

Congrats on the high games and especially the 266. I hope you make the team. The onlything I would have to say is that you should not think of splits as opens automatically. I like to think of them as extreme spares that you need to go big or go home with (in essence, try to pick up or not try at all). With some of them it is just a matter of throwing the ball extremely hard, hitting the pins, and getting lucky.

yeah ur right, i dont usually think of them as opens and i try to get them but i just didnt succeed, i shud have on one of them tho, just unlucky i guess

It happens. Most splits are pretty tough to pick up. I wish I could remember how to pick up a vast majority of the ones that I used to leave. Oh well, I don't leave too many nowadays so there isn't a lot for me to practice with.

I like to think of them as extreme spares that you need to go big or go home with (in essence, try to pick up or not try at all). You will lose more games by always trying to make splits and missing count than you will by just always trying to get count.
