Community,

I just stumbled across a few high FPS release videos on youtube that I thought I would share. I just wish that they were a bit longer in the beginning and looped. Beggers can't be choosers.

Low Rotation Release:

Medium Rotation Release:

High Rotation Release:

Enjoy!

Let1hang, those are great. I keep saying you DON'T turn your wrist, but your fingers roll up the side of the ball. All you people who say turn your wrist, please watch these.

maybe my eyes are playing tricks on me but it looks like his thumb is starting at about the 2 o'clock position and his wrist rotates counter clockwise til his thumb is at 12 o'clock then his thumb exits the ball and his fingers came straight up the back of the ball. Like I said maybe my eyes are playing tricks on me. But that is what I seen.

Your wrist moves, but it's not the "turning" that most people try to do.

Put your hand out in front of you, hand open and your palm facing up. Now keep your palm facing up and point your fingers to the left (to the right if you're using your left hand). The wrist movement is really from this position back to where you were.

Thanks for sharing. Those are great. I really could have used those a few weeks back when I was first getting started. It really helps to see proper releases in slow motion.

I recorded a bunch of pba events on my dvr and watched a lot of the slow-motion replays in slow-mo on my dvr to slow it down even more, and it helped me understand things a lot better when I was starting to try to learn the hook.

Let1Hang,
Thanks for sharing. What I noticed is how far he got the ball out on the lane after release. The broken wrist also as weight goes on to the fingers. I no longer use a wrist brace and feel like I am getting better ball roll.

Wrist braces will give you support, but they prohibit you from doing these types of things. If you can bowl without one, I personally think you're better off.

I accidentally stumbled across these videos posted on here. Thanks for distributing them. I am the producer of the videos. I have other high speed videos that compare different releases I have collected during coaching sessions. Although most of them aren't very strong releases, its what you see out of the majority of bowlers. I have posted the speed, rpms, etc... of each release to make it more interesting. Enjoy...
