52-year-old Bart Maderios of Plaistow, NH, won the biggest prize in the history of candlepin bowling by winning a five-strike challenge tournament at Pilgrim Lanes in Haverhill, MA. Maderios got the five strikes in a row, almost unheard of in the candlepin form of the game, for the $25,000 jackpot. Maderios currently carries a 121 league average, which is considered very respectable in that form of the game.
