Series recap: First night. We bowled the vacant team, which meant we needed to hit our average to win each game. One guy on the team had no sanctioned average, so he came in at 200, even though he is a 155 bowler. We stepped it up, taking all 7 points. I got beat in the 2nd round of brackets, 225-219. I was still in the Eliminator, so I may have some cash coming to me next week.

Being that we bowled the vacant team, and I ended up as deep as I did by the end of the game, I'm going to really have to a) get the avalanche polished up (it's at 2000 now) and b) get comfortable throwing a lot faster, or in front of the ball return.

Okey my third post on same subject but never showed up cause we max out the other thread.

http://www.bowlsk.com/games/view-series.html?series=6337

Much better than previous 3 weeks, i'm slowly getting out of my slump. I just left too much wood on the deck tonight that i should of picked up. Espeically the first two games i opened in the 10th frame and those killed those games especially. I needed to fill that frame and i didnt. 182-176-203 = 561

Team wise my team was off. Husband and wife were bickering and brought it to the bowling alley which didnt help one bit. So only mananged 2 pts out of 7 pts in Position Round. So might end up 5th or 6th. Next week sweepers.

Funny that Admin is saying that there's a problem with the summer leagues 2008 post. I can see Brandon's two posts and Chris Georges too in the original post. No problem from my end.

Nice Bowling Dennis, Ludo, Ritchie, cgeorg, Brandon, and Mike.

As for me last night was just o.k. as I bowled right at my average. I shot a 500 even (149, 165, 186). For the first game and a half I was throwing too hard and missing the pocket way too much. I finally slowed down and bowled pretty decent the 2nd half of the night. As a team we ran into a buzzsaw. For the first 2 games, three members of the other team bowled at least 20 above their averages. They came down to earth the last game so we managed to take that one going 1-3.

Next week is position then sweepers. We should finish somewhere between 8th and 4th.

Yeah, we just reposted to boost our post counts wink

I also can see all the stuff in the summer thread, but I have my preferences set up to show 50 posts per page, not the default 10, so that could make a difference. I only have 10 pages of posts in that thread, whereas others would have 50. It may be a pagaing limit, rather than a post limit? In any case, this thread should be just about dead. Also, I just realized I posted it in the wrong thread, so I'm going to have to copy it over to the fall/winter thread smile

Final Wednesday Summer Mixed League standings

It's official...my team took 5th place. We actually tied for 4th in points, but "Team Amelia" had 256 more pins w/ handicap. My cousins' team, the "Lounge Lizards," finished 13th, but they were in the league's basement for some time, so they put on a charge at the end. My team finished ahead of the scratch team, "Fun And Games," too, so I had to be pleased with that. laugh

Good luck on that one.

I think that is why we are seeing so many double posts grin

wheee its over, well one of the nights. I always loved $$$ nite!! I put on all the sidepots as usual + doubles partners and I picked the good ones today. Two of the guys had hot hot hands, with 777 hdcp total (9pin hdcp) and the other was 772 hdcp total (3pins hdcp). I shot OK, had a rough game in the middle, 256, 183, 228 = 667. Had 2 splits on the 2nd game and no carry. I was throwing to hard and leave 10's. 4th fm of the 3rd game I brought out my Lane#1 EVO and threw it softer and smashed the pocket getting a hambone after the change.

FUN FUN night, I came out +$58 from sidepots and sweepers so it was cool.

A bit of a surprise for payouts (though I should've known it was going to happen)...my team split the 4th and 5th place money with Team Amelia because of the tie for 4th place (turns out the pinfall tiebreaker only applies for determining positions in position rounds). Each bowler, regardless of where their team finished, also received an extra $6, making the total to me $93.50. The league also had a no-tap tournament for their bowlers, but I sat out of it because I wanted to be at my winter league's meeting.

All-in-all, a great summer. laugh

Sweepers Night. Shot a 585 scratch add that to 120 pins handicap they game i had a 702. That was good enough for 5th place in sweepers. $40 i'll take it. I could shot better just some curcial opens killed me chances. Person who won sweepers shot a 715 with 277 last game and had 815 with handicap.

Team wise we came in 7th got about $64 per person.

641. I bowled fairly well, but had some carry issues. Hit the pocket 77% of the time, but only carried 2/3 of them. Made a great adjustment in the last game on the left lane, moving right and throwing the type of release I used on the Cheetah. Needed a mark on that lane in the 10th to win my bracket, and I struck out.

Our team wound up winning the scratch league, and I recovered from my slump in time to be a hero in the position round. We needed 30 points to take first place, and we went 32-18, as I won my individual matchup 9-1: 227-226, 174-171, 246-246(!), 236-218. I was behind in total pins in the 7th frame of the fourth game, but I struck from the 6th through the first frame of the 10th to put it away...my 883 overall was the best score of the night.

The PBA Experience league, not so much...the team went nowhere and I finished with a 174 average for my six weeks. I'll be back next year though. smile
