Let1hang, those are great. I keep saying you DON'T turn your wrist, but your fingers roll up the side of the ball. All you people who say turn your wrist, please watch these.

maybe my eyes are playing tricks on me but it looks like his thumb is starting at about the 2 o'clock position and his wrist rotates counter clockwise til his thumb is at 12 o'clock then his thumb exits the ball and his fingers came straight up the back of the ball. Like I said maybe my eyes are playing tricks on me. But that is what I seen.

Your wrist moves, but it's not the "turning" that most people try to do.
Put your hand out in front of you, hand open and your palm facing up. Now keep your palm facing up and point your fingers to the left (to the right if you're using your left hand). The wrist movement is really from this position back to where you were. Man I finally saw the light today from a fellow bowlingcommunity poster in person! I can't thank you enough out there sir, you're great!

Let1Hang, Thanks for sharing. What I noticed is how far he got the ball out on the lane after release. The broken wrist also as weight goes on to the fingers. I no longer use a wrist brace and feel like I am getting better ball roll. Dianne Wrist braces will give you support, but they prohibit you from doing these types of things. If you can bowl without one, I personally think you're better off.

bryhardt,
I'm glad that you put these videos online as I had been looking for some quality release videos for some time. They helped to clarify what I need to do to improve my release!
I was wondering if it's possible for you to edit some of the videos that you have up on the site from the link you provided. Some of them look like you started them right at the release point. Some examples of videos that could be improved are your 13.46 162 8.22 high high, 15.73 257 11.1 high medium, and 16.7 121 4.8 high medium videos. I and I'm sure others would like to see a bit more of their swing leading up to their release point; for example the 16.68 143 5.84 low low and 14.40 295 14 high low are great videos. Would it be possible to fix the other videos to show a bit more of the swing? Or perhaps you could use my input for future videos.
Craig

Nice looking specs. For the ball speed/rev rate, did you calculate based on time to get to the pins/time for the tape to rotate, or do you have some other analysis program for that?

The speed calculation is based on the time and frames. The rpms etc.. are based on tape movement. I am trying to compile a list of side shot videos to show aspects of late, early, timing etc... If anybody feels like they want to donate to the cause let me know. Even if they are youtube links I can grab them from there. Thanks...

Nice job on the videos. I'd love to see all of the different releases going fully down the lane, all with the same ball on the same oil. Just to compare the different reactions the ball gets from them. Steve
