Hey all,
I just received my Lanemaster Sting and had a question about its color. It says it is suppose to be black. Should I be concerned and alittle area has a swirl in it? Is that common with this ball?
Thanks

Many balls, even if they are suppose to be solidly one color have some sort of swirl in them still. Its just the nature of the process. That being said, sometimes the internet sites get what are called factory seconds, sometimes its only a color blemish other times there are other problems. If its just a the color then it shouldn't affect the performance.

I wouldn't be too concerned about it. The BW Solid, is supposed to come in black with some red laced in it. Some of the ones that I've seen are nearly red.

As for the swirl it could be a result of whoever was touching up the paint job on the ball. Ask your Pro Shop before you get it drilled just to be safe.

How would I actually know if it is just the color and not also performance until I throw it (should I look for other defects? If so what would I be looking for?. They didn't advertise it as being a factory second? Just nervous- It was a great deal though on buddies

Raggity, I've seen some that look like a gray clowdy spot and others with a swirl

What a ball looks like in pictures is not always what it will look like in person. I wouldn't worry about it. I would throw a pink ball down the lane if it works. Wait. I did have a pink ball (Erase-IT).

As long as a ball performs, color or cosmetic blemishes are of little concern to me. I once joked with some people I don't care what color a ball is, that I would throw a pink Hello Kitty plastic for a spare ball. That got me a few weird looks. I like the more off color equipment anyways.
