WRW being referred to as a straight bowler is that his ball goes with the boards before it reaches its breakpoint and then it starts hooking. WRW can hook the ball, he just prefers going straighter.

As for ball, a Groove Urethane might be a good start. Its just a little grippier than plastic with a little more reaction and better hitting power but nothing like the performance balls.
