I bowl in a mixed doubles league. We have a team pot that consists of: if you get stuck its a $1, if you're the only one who strikes in a frame the other three pay a qtr, if the guys miss a one pin spare--a qtr, if the girls open three in a row--a qtr, miss you avg-- a qtr, pick up a split-- the three pay a qtr. I'm looking for a few more ideas. I'm considering diagonal sticks for a qtr. I just need a few more

Perhaps a quarter for Brooklyn balls and 75 cents by you for Brooklyn strikes especially if you're the only one to hit Brooklyn and carry it. Pay a dollar if you miss the five pin (assuming you went Brooklyn for the leave).

I don't know. I never do any of these things usually so I don't .

There was a team that I used to bowl against in a fairly competitive men's league a few years back. They actually had a spreadsheet of all of the different things. They had spare comibinations on there, strikes, splits, things like that. Bowler gets a double, everyone else pays. If you get "hung", you pay. They also all got into all of the pots and any of the winnings from the pots (except for the king of the kill) went into the middle. Their captain collected all of the money each week. At the end of the year on the night we all got our $$$, he would divide the money up between all of them equally. Normally, it was about $1K per bowler. They went to Nationals the next week. They used it as a savings plan. Just a thought.

In the fall/winter league I bowled in, you had to pay a quarter if you didn't mark in the 5th frame.

boomer welcome to the group.

Are you planning on saving this til the end of the year? Otherwise, how does one win any money?

We all pay a quarter to start each game as an ante.
Then you pay if you miss a 1-pin spare
You collect if you get the 7th strike in the game. Doubles count as 2.
If you miss that 7th strike, you pay a quarter.
When someone wins, you ante another quarter, and start over.

We used to have a kitty that was based as follows: making a baby split cost 10 cents, a bigger split 25 cents. An open frame cost 25 cents. Not making your average cost $1. Not beating your man(opponent) cost $1. Missing the head pin cost 25 cents. Strikes could cost 10 cents or a quarter for a turkey. The money was kept by the team captain and at the end of the season we had a team dinner. In some years we just divided the money up 5 ways. Lots of fun and provided an incentive to pay attention and let us rag on each other a lot.
