Does anyone have any comments on the new Track Uprising?

I have a Cell right now and wanted to know how the new Uprising stacks up against the Cell. The reviews I have read seem to suggest that the new Uprising can be used in a variety of considtions and is very versatile.

This was also said about the Cell but of late (even with reconditioning), I find that the Cell has lost some of its performance. Could be me but I am just exploring options. wink

The Cell seems to be for more heavily oiled conditions the uprising is for medium oil. Your Cell may be dying because the lanes are drying out faster because the heat outside and the center just using less oil over the summer.

Coach Jim does make a good point. Your Cell could not be storing enough energy (at least that's what i think he's saying). And when you say reconditioning, do you mean re-surfaced or rejuvenated(baked)? There could still be oil deep in the pores. I only ask because where I go to get my ball re-surfaced, re-surfacing doesn't include rejuvenating.

As for comparason between the Up-rising and the Cell. From what I've heard the Up-rising is better on medium conditions. Track said that they should've released the Up-rising before the Rising because it is a medium oil ball and its predacessor is a heavy oil ball. And while the Up-rising is versatile and can be used on many patterns including heavier oil, the Cell is better suited for heavier oil because that is what it was primarily made to be thrown on.

Personally, I think a nice one, two punch in any arsenal right now would be a combination of the Cell and the Up-rising. Both are extremely versatile and all seems to make the difference between the two is the volume of oil on the lanes. However, since I do study martial arts and I've learned that people have trouble defending against four strikes, I would suggest something for drier conditions like the T-Road balls, the Swarm, Wrath Dead Flush, or even some of the pancake weight block balls like the Scout Reactive. And the last one being your spare ballof course, which you never leave home without.

Sorry about that, I went from ball comparison to arsenal evaluation and help. My apoligies.

The T-Road balls are very strong - the Solid is billed as a heavy oil ball (http://www.stormbowling.com/products/balls/ball.asp?ballid=240), while the Pearl is for medium (http://www.stormbowling.com/products/balls/ball.asp?ballid=231)

He might be confusing them with the thunder struck series like I do a lot.

Agreed, the T-Road balls pack a lot more muscle than their price would lead you to believe. Even the Thunderstruck series had more flare potential than you typically see from a ball intended for light oil. My light oil ball is a Street Rod Pearl, and even with that I had to take the OOB finish up to 4000 and two polish coats before I saw the length I was after.

In regard to the Cell, what is likely happening is that you're using it on less oil than it was intended for. This will seriously shorten the lifespan of the ball! shocked The Up-Rising will offer a different look, much more skid-flip with a monster back-end move. The Cell's hook is more continuous and gradual.

My apoligies. I confused the T-Road balls with the Street Rod balls. Again my bad. I ment the Street Rod balls. Both contain the surface that cars drive on in their names and I got them confused.

The Uprising will be and probably is the Cell for medium conditions. And probably if you get the Uprising you might not even need the Cell except for the heavier oil conditions (based on what I've heard).
