He probably doesn't know how to put a weight hole in the ball. I have seen many a shop drill everything label so they don't have to put a weight hole in the ball. That is fine if the ball is symmetrical, but asymmetrical balls pretty much always need a weight hole unless you get a pro cg with the cg kicked toward the center of the grip from the line from the pin to mass bias.

That is what I thought too.. since the ball actually had the cg out of line to the right of the MB.. he was indeed laying it out so the cg was close to the centergrip. Maybe they don't want to be responsible if the ball isn't legal.. If they put the cg close to centergrip then they know they are ok.
by the way.. what do you think about the pro cg balls.. Will the ball still perform the same way it is supposed to with the cg that far out of wack.

Try it out for a little while. If you like the fit, best thing to do is to take them all into your driller at the same time and get them done. I know, it's expensive. But, if your driller has them all there and does them at the same time, it will be easier for him to get them all the same. In April, I had 4 balls redrilled to a different span, different pitches, and no finger grips. Why? So he could exactly match everything up at the same time. I got a Cell a few weeks ago. After about a week, I had to get my thumb sanded cause they were all tight. I brought all 5 in at the same time. My driller thanked me. He said that it is easier to match equipment up when you are doing them at the same time rather than one at a time.

Getting 8 done at once will take some time. Make sure that you have a few days until you have to bowl again. Also, let your driller know what you are planning to do. That way, he can schedule it with you.

yeah.. I have to check out this new span and pitches to see how it feels and works.. luckily my thumbhole is pretty easy.. no ovaling or anything. just a round hole with some bevel on the frontside.

Pro cg balls are fine and are mostly for people who are superstitious about having a weight hole in the ball being unlucky or some nonsense.

pro pins usually means to me a way to sell a ball that otherwise does NOT have flexible desired pin locations for the every day "joe" bowler.
