My PBAX league on Tuesdays (4 man), starts next week, but I am on night shift, so my teamies will need a sub the first week. Could be a good thing (for the team). The diff between my 'blind man's bluff' house shot league last year and the summer PBAX league was 40 pins.
I do have one house shot league for the fall to help keep the ego where it has no business being. That one is a singles league. So I only hurt myself when I carp it up.
carp is scrambled version of the actual word I first put in there. That one was was [censored]...

Well it looks like I might be starting the season off as a sub for several weeks. The captain of the team I was originally suppose to bowl with on Saturdays before I decided to take some of this season off just had surgery and will probably need someone to fill in for him.

I don't start up until next Friday, but I'm really looking forward to this season. Even though my summer league didn't go as well as my teammate or I would have liked, the last 2 weeks I got it together and figured a lot of things out. Going to hopefully carry it over to the next league.
Most of my team is back, we lost one bowler, but we had a replacement for him already lined up from the end of the last season.

Last night was my first time bowling on a house shot since April. Wow is it different than Sport shots. Before I left the house, I was going to switch out my Cell for my X-Factor but I forgot. Big mistake. My Paradigm and my Special Agent were too much ball, let alone the Cell. I know better for next week. It was fun getting back out there again though. I shot 540 (eh) and I left a LOT of pins out there. I missed stupid spares. I left 1 split all night (3-10). At least my team won all of the points.

My team situation is clearer after last night, though I still don't know if I'm going to be on a full team. There are 3 of us that I know are trying to form a team, including a female that was on another team in my summer league and a displaced sub from last season (the league voted not to allow subs this season). My league secretary is sort of expecting 2 other bowlers to show up next week for the start of bowling, and if both of them do show up, they'll likely be placed with the 3 of us for a full team.

Hey guys - been awhile. Hope all is well.
I had the pleasure of meeting cgeorg last night.
cgeorg - It was very nice meeting you finally :-)
Figured since fall league started I would start posting again - I bowled over the summer but really didn't concentrate although I somehow managed to maintain a 158 through the summer - have no idea how I did that.
I felt good going into last night - wish I knew why so I could continue that mood. Whatever it was paid off. I went into last night with a 155. I ended up bolwing a 202, 195, 170 for a 567. I am pretty excited over those scores - best I have had in a long time.

Just realized I posted my stuff in the wrong thread, here it is in the *right* one (I know you all want to read it twice :)) http://www.bowlsk.com/games/view-series.html?series=7130641. I bowled fairly well, but had some carry issues. Hit the pocket 77% of the time, but only carried 2/3 of them. Made a great adjustment in the last game on the left lane, moving right and throwing the type of release I used on the Cheetah. Needed a mark on that lane in the 10th to win my bracket, and I struck out.

Well I finally had my first night in my first league since I was a kid. It's a mixed league with 80% of 220 handicap and a 30 point system. It didn't go as well as I had been anticipating/hoping. I was frusterated as hell before I even started bowling. I was stuck in two separate traffic jams on the way there, I had to rush to get prepared for bowling, I had to fill out all of the paperwork, etc. I was in no way calm when it came time to roll the ball. Let me just say that the first ball I rolled went straight into the gutter... and the rest of my first game didn't get any better. I started out the second game fairly well marking in the first 4 but then out came the residuals from the first game... more gutters. I started out the third game like I had done in my first and later part of the second but then I realized what I was doing wrong. I was opening up my hips causing my shoulders to open which was allowing my swing to go out to the right. I fixed my gutter issue and marked out from the 6th on for a 173. What an embarrasing night... 403 At least I was able to pull out my first individual point on my last game. Hopefully next week I'll be able to pull out 3 individual points as my average is "artificially low" at the moment. Time for me to practice more before next week. Things can only get better from here... right? At least I had one highlight from the night. I took part of the 50/50 jackpot. Enough to cover my sactioning fees.
