Last night I came back down to earth somewhat but was able to get what for me is at least a decent series. I had a 551 (189, 182, and 180).

The good, except for the last game I had a lot of strikes. I didn’t miss any one pin spares. Only one split. I was able to fight through a few bad stretches. I was very consistent.

The bad, picked off several multi-pin spares. Wasn’t able to finish games strong. Dropped one in the channel on a turkey (ouch). Team only went 1-3.

All in all I can’t complain too much because I am bowling at a much higher level than last year. I just need to stay focused because several times I felt my concentration slipping away last night.

Well last night was a bit better than the last couple of weeks. I had a 112, 183, and a 158 for a 453 series. Not very consistent at all but at least I got out of the 300's that I had last week.

I'm FINALLY beginning the translation between what I do in practice to what I do at the lanes. My release last night felt OK but not consistently up to what I feel during practice. I had a lot more pocket shots than I've been having lately and that felt great. Luckily I only threw one gutter and I shouldn't have even thrown that; it slipped off my hand. My lower scores were attributed to not carrying well or picking up easy spares that I should have picked up. The good thing is that I've now up'ed my league high game from 178 to 183. I sense better nights to come in the near future.

I'm also going to the Pro Shop tonight to get a white slug put on my pap. I usually practice with a piece of tape on it and I like to watch the PAP as the ball rolls down the lane. It tells me if I had a good release and the AR that it has. I know that bowling in league with tape on the PAP is prohibited as it is a foreign object and that's why I'm getting the slug put in. I think it'll benefit me in league if I can tell how my ball is rolling using the PAP as the indicator. Once I get my release engrained then I can move away from this.

Yesterday night, I was stuck in jamming traffic for 20 minutes delayed in I-5 freeway, I arrived late when the game start. Whew! I made it. In 1st game, I bowled a couple strikes, 1 split, 1 open, and 5 spares. I got strikeout in 10th frame. In 2nd games, I got 5 spares, few strikes, and 3 opens. In 3rd games, I had 5 strikes, other 2 strikes, but 3 splits & 5 opens. I had 7-4-2-6-10 twice in 7th and 8th frames. I got strike in 9th frames.

Another league night completed. I was real consistent the first two games, rolling a 192 both games, each with 6 strikes and two opens a piece. Unfortunately the third game not so well, I had five opens, for a 177 game. Had I struck out in the tenth it would have been a 189. I got the first one with a very slow trip out of the 4 pin, I think the rack took a little longer to set than usual. I pulled the second shot and crossed over leaving the 5, which I completely blew the spare attempt by not lining up right and pulling the shot. I just started having issues and I'm not exactly sure what it was. First my ball start to not finish as well as it had been. I'm not sure if it was the ball, the lanes or me, I think mainly me with a little help from the lanes. So I start to move back to the right some and another issue would pop up, either I was pulling the ball or I would knuckle it or my thumb was sticking but I didn't try to remove tape, either way the ball would go left of target and the head pin. I also think at times I was just trying too hard or trying to do too much. I do know I need to have my thumb pitch moved a little forward as my ball came off of my hand in practice when I completely relaxed my thumb.

I lead the time in series with a 561, and other than one game I was high score on the team. We only won 1 point the first game, and that was by 10 or so pins, the other two games the other team just handed our rear end to us while the majority of my team wasn't doing much, only 2 of us hit average or better all three games and 2 were well under average for all but one of the games.

Well we won 3 out of 4 so we'll stay in the top 5. I didn't do too bad, just a few mental errors... 175, 192, 181 for a 548. So my average will go up to a 165. I'm almost on Track smile!

I also bowled an ABT tourney tonight. I won't make the cut, but I had a 169 average for my first time playing on the Scorpion pattern. Shot a 197, 158, 145, 178 for a 678. The cut was at +77, I finished at +54. Couldn't figure out the lanes on my two middle games frown.

An average day I suppose. A few less splits and opens would have made it good though. Overall I was pleased in my ability to adjust better. PBA patterns still trick me quite a bit when I'm searching for a line(and you should tell when that is in the frame by frame), but on house shots I used to fight the dry a lot. Today I just kept moving, and I look at that as a plus because I used to be really stubborn about adjustments. Using Bowlsk has helped me keep focus a lot better especially when the two lanes are different because I can look back at what happened exactly and adjust off that. Sometimes it's not so easy to just remember everything that happened two frames ago.

Well this week I finally had a respectable night on Thursday. I used my new Sting and started out with a double, but then went through the nose a couple times and left a few splits. Not an excuse I just made a couple bad shots and wound up with a 170.
In the second game I was clean for a 227, started the third game with a 5 bagger, opened in the 6th (another bad shot)and was clean out for a 221 and a 618 series.

As a team we had 4 of 5 guys over 600, and we took all points. It was great to finally contribute and help the team win. I think I'm going to really like this new ball. Once I got aquainted with its reaction, I was in the pocket all night. Bowling was fun this week smile
