Those are going to be some nice shirts EastWest. Last night a teammate and I both wore Under Armor performance polos. Mine in red, his in blue. Guys were ragging on us, so we went with it and said we called eachother before league and "coordinated" our attire.

Richie - Good to hear you got on the league. Unfortunate about your previous team. I hope the new league is as just as enjoyable as your last one. Must've been nice having no one else play your line.

Eastwest:

I know that I just need a week or 2 off. I have pretty much bowled every week since May (between practicing for Nationals, Nationals, and summer league). I think that I have to have a different mindset when I am bowling on my house shot rather than the sport shot which I was bowling on all summer. During the summer, I had to focus on keeping a low speed and slow feet. Last night, when I kept my feet slow and my speed down, I went through the nose and left splits. I just have to be firmer with my shots. I am also thinking that I may need a tamer ball than my X-Factor. It was zooming back hard. Same with my Paradigm. I am thinking about getting a Street Rod Pearl.

First Night of Winter leagues:

212-166-211 = 589
Could of been better, left too much wood on the lanes. Second game lost my reaction and didnt make adjustment quick enough to keep up with the lane trasition. But still not a bad start.

3rd week of Winter League. 225, 265, 190 for a 680. That last game I had 1 split and missed a 10 pin in the first frame. It should have been another 700 series but I'm still happy with how I bowled tonight.

1st week/Wed. 189, 182, 162 = 533. 177 ave.

I dunno, lanes were not easy. New wood? Tons of over/under. Hit the pocket bone 8 or 9 or 10 pin. Our entire 5 man team failed to hit their averages.

Occured to me to change balls but then "what the he ck" league was almost over anyway.

Even though everyone was establishing, including us, we won 4 out of 4 games. So the opposing team didn't bowl well either. You know when you are establishing the first night it all comes down to consistency and apparently none of the 10 people on our pair was consistent that night. In fact of the 18 teams floored, no one did anything that night.

Highlight of the night was at the beginning when we awarded our Vice President with his 11 in a Row plaque from end of last winter season.

My first Thursday night league started last night. I can hardly admit this.........but I had three (3) STRIKES ALL NIGHT. I won't even post the scores, because I really don't remember them exactly, but I think I averaged around 140 for the night.

I never did that badly...even when I first started bowling. frown
I could not do anything right last night. I don't know how it started, but I got into a funk and I just could not reverse it.
Luckily its real early. Not a real good way to reach my goal of a 200 average...lol.

Way to go Branden and Recon

Wow - Eraser, sorry for the bad night. Like you said though, its early, you can pull it back up.

I did pretty good last night - everything felt good. My release and follow-through were connecting well and I didn't loft the ball at all - was pretty happy with that and noticed more revs which I have been working on.

Because its the start of the season I went in last night with a 172 (my true average is 158 based on summer league and last season) I started out the night with a 206. Wow, 2 200's in 2 weeks - I usually do that the entire year - ha ha. 2nd game I had some "oops" frames and ended up with a 162. Oh well - I can at least try for the high 5's like I got last week right? Go into the 3rd game still feeling great, nothing holding me back and not thinking about game 2. I strung a couple strikes together and decided to not pay attention to my score at all - went into the 10th and wanted it to look pretty with 3 strikes(ha ha)- unbelievably I did it, hit the pocket perfect all 3 balls. I heard my team yell "Wow, you bowled a 232" - I look at the scores and to my surprise and amazement it said that my series was "600" - I can not tell you how excited I was to see that. So glad I wasn't paying attention and realize I was that close - I had no idea that my 3rd game was scoring that high.

So I am pretty happy that I got my 2nd 600 last night and I rolled my highest game ever of 232.
