Erin, Yeah i visited 300 Club a while back. Yeah Friday Night and Saturday night brings in the younger crowd. It gets back in there if you dont get there before 6pm. I think its $6 a game before 6pm and then its $8 a game after 6. Back 9 is always $8 a game. Me and three other friends spent about $150 or so one 3 games of bowling, food and drinks.
I dont mind cosmic bowling. When i went it always been younger crowd just going out for some fun. Every once in a while your run into someone who acts up but most of the time when i went they were respectful.
The most popular house around here runs cosmic on Friday and Saturday nights from 10PM till 12:30. They state explicitly on their website that, in order not to interfere with leagues, cosmic bowlers who show up before 9:30 will be politely asked to leave and come back later.
I remember years ago, the place where I bowled had some gimmick called "moonlight bowling." I never checked it out myself, but I assume that must have been the predecessor to cosmic. Leagues and regular open bowling were all packed back, then so it certainly wasn't the center's main money-maker.

Yeh, they called it moonlight bowling here too. Like Dennis says, They just turn off the lights and played some music. Now its lasers and black lights louder music, some even have music videos on a big screen over the alleys. Its a good gimmick for fundraisers as well.
My house does glow bowls on thursday friday saturday and sunday. It's never really that bad. Honestly thats how I began bowling and I sort of like it. The cosmic bowlers aren't that rude around where I live. Most of them know bowlers curteousy which amazes me.

When I was in college, I worked at the lanes in town. On Friday and Saturday nights, we would have cosmic bowling. Since it was a college town, it got pretty rowdy but people were considerate. I bowled a while back at a local center during their cosmic bowl. The adults were a lot worse. Running up on each other and just being idiots. Saw one lady who kept on trying to bowl with a drink in her hand. Finally after she spilled half of a rum and coke on the lane the counter said something to her.

humm i have seen a lot more adults do more dumb things at night, but most of the time cosmic isn't going. tuesday night is 1$ beer night and 1$ large popcorn and 1$ games. so its packed out the yin yang on tuesday. the bar boy racks up in tips that night too. sad thing that i know everyone that works there because of my wife working there. and they tell me that tuesday right now is worse than saturday. oh yeah tuesday is cosmic too sorry forgot.

I am currently in a cosmic mixers league on Wednesday nights. I am so glad there is only two weeks left. Not so much because of it being cosmic, but because the lanes are in such disrepair. I have never seen more problems with lanes than this alley. We have had ball returns just plain eat brand new bowling balls for lunch. There was one guy first time bowling with his Twisted Fury and the ball return put a nice 4" wide gauge right down the middle of the ball. Also the pinsetters are just plain horrible. Always dropping pins, and hardly ever sets 10 pins two frames in a row.
The scoring is also horrendous. I have seen many times where we will leave one or two pins and score us as a strike. We are always having to correct the scores. Or we will knock down a couple pins and it will just clear the deck and reset the pins. What's up with that?

If the lanes are that bad, then their maintenance tech sucks, the alley doesn't spend the $ for repair, or both. It takes a lot of work to keep an alley running smoothly. Sounds like that places is used more for an amusement park than a bowling alley.

I got into bowling from a recreational standpoint. I would go on my odd days off, like one week I had a Wednesday Thursday. A friend of mine who works nights at a hotel would come with me. I've since gotten into it a lot more and bowl league on Monday nights. I only drink and bowl if I'm out having fun.
