The new twisted fury solid could be a good test if you want to try brunswick as a bench mark ball.
Just got my new
BTM, with the review of this ball. It is the strongest ball they make - Probably not good for a benchmark ball. Original would be a good benchmark, with the solid for heavier conditions and an avalanche or one of the mid-range balls for lighter conditions.
Of the 3 balls rated, 2 got an 8 on sport conditions (the solid, and the ... copperhead I think? The stronger one). The swarm got lower marks, but looks like a decent medium house shot ball. I am against going with one company, but
Brunswick seems to have balls that can handle any condition in a very predictable manner - They have the Solid Fury, the BVP heavy oil ball (copperhead?) the original Twisted Fury, and the Avalanche solid that are all in the 7s and 8s for sport conditions - I haven't seen another manufacturer come close to that in
BTM's reviews.
