Yerr, as lefty and righty. I do it currently just for the fun though, and as warmup exercise I often get a bit lighter house ball than wat my balls are , and throw it for a while without the thumb, meaning I cup my wrist under it, and then just roll it to the lane attempting to hit the pocket.

yup do it alot. do it in warm up at league for kicks. i use my spare ball. i can throw it and not worry about to much damage :P do it this way if you try it. turn the ball with thumb up and put your fingers in. no thumb. and put your left hand middle finger in the thumb hole. throw it between the 3 and 4 arrow and put a lot of underhanded spin on it. if you loft its going to clear the heads and hook early sometimes. but i get a kick out of it though. a lot of fun.

I bowl thumbless lol but nothing like belmontes style...I don't use my left hand when I bowl. I just support the ball with my right. My wrist is strong so it's holding up at the moment.

I tried it the other day when the GF and I were out for some fun. It reminded me of my old 2 fingered days except the left hand is used for stability and more revs I can see where this would or could work. The footwork and body position is weird though to get out of it.

Actually, a local coach is teaching this to youth at one lane near me. I was told last night that there are a couple of 10 year olds with better than 200 averages in the Saturday youth league. They both use this style.
True or not, it is getting notice.

well having struggled for a year and a half i decided to try since i couldnt bowl any worse and avg'd 200, 650 268 are the highs ive gotten, it is fun and i dont get any pressure in my leg, if youve seen my first post you will understand what i mean about the pressure in leg.

Hope you are not trading a slight groin pull for a potential left knee problem.
