The new twisted fury solid could be a good test if you want to try Brunswick as a bench mark ball.

Actually, the Uprising looks like it would be a good replacment for my BW solid. The Temper and the Tantrum also look good but so does the Odyssey and there's always the option of getting another BW Solid.

The thing is that I'm trying to put together a good and versatile arsenal because some of my equipment is getting worn and I might/probably will need to get it replaced. Plus I want to drop to 15 pounds because I can't quite cup my wrist with a 16 pound ball without it hurting. additionally, I feel like I throw my 15 pund ball much better than my 16 pound balls.

The Grand Illusion likes it might be a good choice as well.

the uprising does seem like a good one. it seems like you can do a lot with it. also if it goes too long you can sand it down some from what i've read. a versatile ball is a good thing laugh just an idea of how i do it--->
MoRich awsome finish 1st game ( oily )
twisted fury 2nd ( med-oily )
kinetic energy 3rd ( med-light )
i start with MoRich, but if the oil starts to move i'll go to the fury. but i try not to switch much. but sometimes it can't be help. i try to stay with ball as long as i can but it does help going to some that dont over react or go to long.
your heading in the right direction and i like how your looking at it. so keep it up and you'll find what your looking for.

So I realized last night that I cup my wrist and I didn't even know it. I wasn't starting with it cupped but I cup it in the backswing. I don't know if that is good or bad thing. But my main reason for changing weights seems to be gone. I still want to try 15 pounds though.

Just got my new BTM, with the review of this ball. It is the strongest ball they make - Probably not good for a benchmark ball. Original would be a good benchmark, with the solid for heavier conditions and an avalanche or one of the mid-range balls for lighter conditions.

Of the 3 balls rated, 2 got an 8 on sport conditions (the solid, and the ... copperhead I think? The stronger one). The swarm got lower marks, but looks like a decent medium house shot ball. I am against going with one company, but Brunswick seems to have balls that can handle any condition in a very predictable manner - They have the Solid Fury, the BVP heavy oil ball (copperhead?) the original Twisted Fury, and the Avalanche solid that are all in the 7s and 8s for sport conditions - I haven't seen another manufacturer come close to that in BTM's reviews.

Agreed about the Solid not really being a benchmark ball. I got the original Twisted thinking it would be a good lead-off hitter, and OOB (400 rough buff) it proved to be much too strong. Took it to 2000 Abralon polished, and now it does what I expected. Twisted is great as a lead-off ball in my PBAX league because it doesn't freak out when it hits the transition from wet to dry on fresh patterns. As carrydown starts to show up, I can move to some of my more angular stuff. I don't get quite the carry from my Twisted that I do from my Breaks and Street Rod, but it's also much easier to keep the pocket earlier in the night.

Predictability over eye-popping performance is what the latest round of stuff from the Big B seems to be all about.
